I think that since he's well immersed in the world of Pony he'd know to expect and be prepared for Pinkie blowing up in his face. i hope you don't make him change instantly to accomodate the ponies lifestyle; since going from fighting for your life all the time and killing things on a daily basis can't be easy to jump out of, since he has to be on high alert all the time to survive, and i'm expecting him to be ultraviolent to any threats.

OK, time for some things that are not well known as they should be, especially among gun enthusiasts.

1. If the bullet is lodged in the wound and not blocking an artery or important vein, it is left in place as removing the bullet is unnecessary and usually causes more harm then good.
2. You do not cauterize wounds that can be stitched closed unless you are lacking in any reliable form of medical care or necessity. Doctors employ cauterization techniques called electrocautery which heats a needle with electricity, and is performed on a very localized basis (the actual sites of bleeding, not the whole wound).
3. First aid for a gunshot wound in an extremity is to put pressure on the wound (both sides in this case), elevate above the heart, and apply a pressure bandage. You do not remove the bullet, you do not cauterize the hole, you do not apply a tourniquette unless the choice is between losing their life and losing their limb.
4. Puncture wounds are stitched closed. The real damage from gunshot wounds is from the kinetic energy released into the surrounding tissue as it passes through unless it is a hollow point bullet, at which point lacerations, shrapnel, and internal bleeding are likely, and using them on humans can be considered a war crime in some cases. This kinetic damage cannot be directly treated in the field, and instead the bleeding is addressed first and doctors are then trusted to handle it.
5. If the bullet passes through a bone, it is even more important that you leave it to a professional to decide how it should be treated, for example with splinting or even if surgery is needed to repair the bone. Attempting the ham-handed methods performed here have caused more harm than good, ESPECIALLY in a fictional setting with magic available.

In your attempts to make your protagonist look more helpful you've actually made him seem more like an oaf whose knowledge comes from hollywood rather than any actual experience or training.

Hmm... hopefully over time he'll start to drop the attitude. I get why he is how he is. Still no excuse for him to shout and scream and act like a total asshole. We'll see how it goes, hopefully it'll improve.

What if Dominic is not in the time where the series left off for him? What if he's seen episodes that could count as the future? Granted, I could really only see that being fun if he never told anyone about how mlp was a show, but you could clearly make it work!

I have read the entire series. It is a work of GENIUS, and I have read it several times, as I never get tired of this AWESOME series !!! I wish it could be read on youtube. But, with all the crude language, it would fall into a category similar to a clopfic. KEEP READING...AWESOMENESS ABOUNDS !!!!
