Looking forward to Act II!
Oh Solitary...
You are a raging lunatic. We just happen to connect with you
That's right don't be one of those pussy losers that end up in Equestria and they're all like 'Fuck my world, it sucks it horrible place all hail sun butt and join the guard and end up being some pony's bitch'
God I hate those misanthrope piece of shit fics.
4049938
Not sure if that's a compliment or not...
4049950 Well, look at it like this. He's gonna die alone anyways, at least he's comfortable now.
....that...sounded bad.....
....Lemme try again. It's a Fallout scenario. I've told people the only way I'd jump and be in an HiE situation, would be in a Fallout Scenario. Mostly because I'm a wussy little bitch when it comes to survival.*
*In short;HiE, You did it right.
4049950 I do believe a compliment because you haven't made Dominic into a spineless wimp who folds to the Princesses will after
two to three chapterswith in the first five minutes of meeting them. He's held his own against them and isn't afraid of them.4050263
Yeah, I was tired of seeing all of those stories. They always lead to the same conclusion with all the same twists and turns. Glad to hear I'm doing it right.
Yay, act 1 was great :D but for some reason I wanted him to intervene on the zebra and Minotaur argument XD
It's a strange game. The only winning move is not to play.
4050263 Instead the princesses are retards who let a person who is at least acting seriously mentally ill keep his weapons that can kill them - and allow him to be around them.
Spaghetti.
After getting this far I can say without a doubt that 80 people have no taste in literature whatsoever.
That song reminded me of Generation Kill... it fitted really well in the ending.
That last part. He was quoteing my favorite song that Johnny Cash sang. When The Man Comes Around.
6247225 I think they're driven away by the frequent and jarring (spelling & grammar) errors herein. Some people have less tolerance for that sort of thing than others...
*Johnny Cash does not make up for it, though it is a good try.
7414075 I wonder if this song would have been a better choice what do you think?
Still not surprised that he didn't tell the truth. Don't see why he would unless hes attempting to gain some semblance of control.
Same xD
He won't join the guard because of... loyalty to America? How do you draw that connection? What does that have to do with joining the guard?
On a side note, I like where this story is headed!
Ah Johnny Cash I see that he has good taste in music

He would be swearing his loyalty to the Princesses, and by connection, to Equestria.
OH MY GOD I FOUND IT
YES
FINALLY
MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED
HOLY SHIT YES
USA USA
I was just glimpsing at some chapters for nostalgia... but I’m rereading this story the third time dammit! The story is so gooood!

I mean, this is a nineteen-year-old American whose education (of unknown level) stopped at sixteen because zombie apocalypse and who’s not in the most academic mood right then and there. There are probably plenty of things from Earth that he legitimately knows zip about and at least quite a few that weren’t as he thinks he knows, and then there’s always the question of how much he even felt like being completely, factually honest to basically a complete stranger at a diplomatic event to begin with. Basically, I read that part, shrugged, and gave it a “sure, kid, whatever you say”.

Yeaaaah, these are a number of the reasons I'm not so happy with the story all these years later. I wrote it as an edgy teenager, back when proofreading, editing, and making things make sense were foreign concepts to me, and it really shows. I've tried to move on from that sort of stuff, and I think my most recent work does a better job setting up and exploring a young person in such position of power. It's a little different, but the similarities are enough that I find myself comparing them often. I'm glad to see people reading and engaging with 'Coming Out of It' though, even with all its shortcomings. I guess the series is kind of like someone's first car. Rough around the edges and not in the best of shape, but there's no denying a certain a nostalgia for it.
