But As you may have noticed one earthpony managed to break his shield with one hit. so they aren't entirely weak. it's just that they are basically untrained fodder used by the unicorns and pegasus.
2700129 well if they tried to hold the weapon in their hoof then they would be walking with only 3/4 of their legs or god forbid 1/2 of them. not only would the support of that leg be removed, they would have the added weight of the weapon in it. As you may have noticed I mentiond pikes and lances were useless to them offensively. Devensively they would be just fine, as will be shown earlier. and that is a pegasus with a lance, not a earthpony.
as to the second picture, see my first comment, a pony charging in with a weapon like that would be laughably easy to just deflect. the weapon is coming in at a fixed direction and a vector of limited change with plenty of time to position oneself defensively.

You're right, we don't. We use machines to do that for us. They're called vehicles, and for the intensive purposes of this fic armor can be considered a vehicle.

Pickaxes are very acute weapons, and in my opinion would be much harder for a pony to handle than a sword.
2700329 we don't use vehicles to weild out spears we used our hands, and using armor to weild a sword sounds silly , how would you SWING it? and for a spear it is even worse, you would have to point with your entire body while charging at them, and then back up your entire body in order to try and restab, spears can be stabbed without the wielder moving back and forth entirely for humans because we have hands and arms.

As for the chariot I was just giving an example of a more rustic vehicle. It's marked alternate universe for a reason, right?
And I already said that pickaxes (in my opinion) are more difficult to use than swords, and if anything, the scene occurring on a mountain would prove my point even further. It's just one big rock!

It's seems thet the eart ponies are treated like sh*t by the other two poni race so woud thet mean thet they will join to the humans side to fight aganst the unicorns and the pegasus? Becouse so far I think the humans woud have a hige cance to recruit them to there side. I mean the unicorns/pegasuses force them to (almost) slave labor and youse them as canon folder we all know from history thet tactic have a hige chance to back fire.

They are uneducated, and ignorant of the world outside the little plot of land they farm for their fuedal lords.
