**DISCONTINUED** Many ponies know the story. The story of Nightmare Moon. They don't know all about her dark past. Knowledge aged a thousand years is being unearthed. The one digging learns a life changing secret and a forgotten past threatens her new life.

Who is Twilight Sparkle?

It's your general HiE story. Human arrives, human is introduced, human adjusts, human falls in love, subsequent pony falls in love with human, marriage, the end. But what a lot of stories don't tell is that the human eventually dies. It could be dying on the field of battle, locked in combat with some immortal foe. Or maybe he slowly succumbs to the sands of time in the background of other, more important things. It eventually happens whether we like it or not.

But what happens after that?... Does he fade from the minds of his friends over time? Completely forgotten in all but a statue and an inscription in the royal gardens?

Or does he stay at the forefront of their thoughts? Forever remembered by his wife in a desperate attempt of find some way to bring him back to life while all those around her keep telling her to move on, "forgive and forget they say", "move on" they say.

"No" she said. "NO!" she yelled in their faces!

She will wait for all eternity if need be, just waiting for the day that she can have her love monkey back!

Well give it a couple thousand years of technological advancement, some descriptions and blueprints ripped off of his iphone, and a major problem that requires a very special approach and we've got ourselves either a recipe for success or a botched clusterfuck of epic proportions.

Authors notes: I have seen so many good stories here, some that are more than worthy of big budget book publishers... And I want to be one of them. So it is with this that I ask you.

Don't use lube.

Be as critical and analyzing as you can. Spot everything you can that would make this story better whether it be better descriptions, better dialogue, the way a character reacts to a situation, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!

Celly, Discord and Cadey have been spying observing. Luna and Twilight seem to have feelings for each other!!! The problem? They don't seem to know how each other feels!! Before her descent into madness and her rebellion as Nightmare Moon, Luna lived entire lifetimes as a mortal and traveller amongst the ponies of Equestria.

Restored to her true self, Luna knows she must return to her cyclic life to remain whole. As preparation she chooses to reacquaint herself with the lives of her subjects in this modern age, and in the guise of Sable Moonshine, unicorn scholar and distant friend of Twilight Sparkle, she travels to Ponyville to spend time with Twilight's companions. Despite the 'exciting' month of astronomical observation and scientific research planned by Twilight, Luna nevertheless finds time to work a day at Sweet Apple Acres. And then another.

And another.

Applejack, meanwhile, is pleasantly surprised by Sable's dedication and enthusiasm for hard work. She's less pleasantly surprised by Sable's enthusiasm for Applejack.

Shining Armor and Princess Cadance celebrate the birth of their first child, blissfully unaware that her arrival fulfills a dark, ancient, malevolent prophesy of doom. Calamitous events set into motion by Flurry Heart’s birth tear apart reality. The ground is torn asunder as sinister invaders emerge from the underworld. Ancient cults emerge from the shadows to herald the foretold arrival of their dark overlord. The Crystal Empire faces its most dire threat yet as a new, evil, and most adorable master launches her campaign to lay claim to the world to bring about a new era of unsurpassed evil.

One day, I'm walking along the side of a lake, enjoying the cool night air, until I unexpectedly get sucked into a portal, leading to Equestria. And to make it more fun, I wake up as a pony! Let's see where this little predicament will lead me to, shall we?

Celestia had prepared for Nightmare Moon's return. Twilight lacked experience, but her mark spoke of a destiny far beyond just a mere unicorn. Even if she herself should fail, her student would succeed in banishing the evil.

And indeed, at midnight of summer sun celebration her corrupted sister returned.

Now if only she could have prepared for who else might have decided to show up.

During the daily ritual to lower the sun to raise the moon, Princesses Celestia and Luna have their abilities locked. At the same time, a new, yet familiar, alicorn crashes into the throne room of the castle.

This is the second Friendship is Magic fic I've written, though I've tried some new things this time around. In my head, it does come after my first fic and my as-of-now unwritten second fic, though I think it can be stand-alone just fine. It doesn't really refer to the events of "The Party's Loyalty," and while it does make one offhand comment in regards to the second one I originally planned, I think it can be safely read without knowing much.

Twilight has kept secrets, from her mentor, and from her friends.

But when Fluttershy accidentally discovers her biggest secret, she and her friends become involved in the darker parts of Equestria and its past.

A war has been raging in the background since long before Celestia and Luna were born, and now Twilight Sparkle leads it. Can she and her friends change the world for the best, or will Twilight become nothing but the monster her kind are made out to be?

You can never make the world perfect, but you can always change it for the better.
