Realistically, they have options. For example, they could flee to another country, except that the Princesses could track them down and besides, one of those borders just effectively closed. There's probably some caves around which nopony's ever fully explored. A life spent reeking of fur dye might be possible. Or they can just stay in the hallway outside the throne room, waiting to be called in so they can explain how their good intentions turned that last mission into the biggest fiasco in Bearer history.

...so where were those caves again?

Even better, Rarity decides, what if she dyes all of the white ponies so they're fashionable, too?

Credit where credit's due: This story probably wouldn't have an awesome cover if I hadn't seen it at the most hilarious VinylTavia story I know. And the story itself would probably only be half as good (or twice as bad), if not non-existent, had I never read this story about violins and fur dye.

"I'm a hero! Not that Mysterious Mare Do Well!" She screamed at her bathroom mirror. "I am Rainbow Miriam Dash! The best young flier and fastest pony in Equestria! She is nothing! I'm everything Ponyville needs in a hero!" She continued screaming before tugging at her mane and shouting obscenities.
"Ponyville doesn't want me as a hero?" She asked no pony in particular as she pulled some dyes out of her cupboard. "Fine. Let's see their precious Mare Do Well handle a villain." Rainbow eyed her Nightmare Night costume and began to cackle madly.

- This idea is from the My Little Pony Renaissance competition, which required that a story: "follow the set theme of "Change". This can be as small as Pinkie Pie deciding to dye her hair...", but it was not quite a 4,000 word idea, so my contest entry utilized the 'other' main prompt: "[or it can be] as dramatic as Princess Twilight embracing the dark side".

After the reformation of Discord, the Equestrian changeling Midnight Masquerade is given the responsibility of reforming as many of his fellow shapeshifters as possible. His first real rescue in weeks of error finally comes along, only to be followed by a voracious foe bent on their demise. the problem of being an umbrum is that your hair can't be cut. it can, but it grows back by the next day making it obsolete. Sombra has managed to raise the rest of the Umbrum so they were able to offer him ideas on what to do with it. despite going from tribes to an empire they kept many things such as the traditional braids they put their hair in, many of which were suggested to Sombra. along with the copious amount of gems and metal beads that can be woven in. he would ask his mother but her styles take to long to do. so he gets an idea off of his daughter, even if he was forced into it. except she's a toddler. so nothing could go wrong...unless you have a fragile masculinity. which thankfully Sombra doesn't.

Pinkie Pie lives happilyin Manehattan, in spite of the extreme crime rate and corruption.This changes Derpy gets kidnapped and Pinkie Pie decides to do something about it . She dyes her mane red and puts on a black latex suit, calling herself Bloodmane. She goes off to save Derpy one night and opens her life up to many new adventures.
