Moonshine is tired.

She works hard all night to provide for herself and her young son, Stardust. They live alone in the small bat pony village of Hollow Shades, on the ground floor of their tree home. It's not easy, raising a foal by herself, but she'd stop at nothing to provide him with everything he could want.

Well, almost anything. Some things just... aren't meant to be.

But together they make it through. One night, she keeps telling herself, it'll get easier. One night, they won't be alone anymore and they can be a family again. One night...

Until then, she'd just have to hold her flickering lantern a little closer.

Love and relationships are never easy, so much commitment, stress, and care. Especially when you're stuck on a trip to the far reaches of the world and beyond. Battling monsters, nightmares and pursued by pirates along with goddesses only know what else. Someponies would say it's all worth it, they're usually right. Yet when somepony's love also accidentally causes a change in species, especially so far as turning you into a dragon. It's probably time to reconsider.

This story is a direct sequel to Love Sickness, therefore it is recommended that you read that story first to understand the context here. Nevertheless, the themes in this story are hopefully going to be far more adventure focused than the last one.

The banishing of Nightmare Moon has brought much suffering to thestrals throughout Equestria. They are seen as servants to a wicked manifestation of the night, and are treated accordingly. Many officials, including the mayor of Manehattan, use every opportunity to gain from this abuse.

Yet the spirit of the bat-winged ponies is not so easily broken. Count Shadow Wing leads a band of Thestrals to demand their rights be returned... or else.

After pranking her commanding officer one too many times. Night Wing decides to get back at Echo with the one thing that will sure cause chaos: The Laser Pointer!

He's going to have so much fun with that thing.

It's gonna suck for the maid ponies that will have to clean up all that mess afterwards.

Finally! I do a story that's not human-to-pony.

1. Why am I doing this? Well, it's because I have an Echo page and very randomly throughout the last three to five months, I've been posting random pranking moments between myself (Since I run the Echo page) and Night Wing or just having fun with him which is Here , Here , Here , Here , Here , And Here

But, it was this post that gave me the idea of trying my luck at doing this laser pointer story with Night Wing getting back at Echo with said item with the post being this one.

Also, Night Wing is a commanding officer bat guard that I briefly mentioned in First Night on the Job

I also know there are other laser pointer stories which I've read and loved which are these The Laser Pointer and Princess Celestia and the Laser Pointer

2. I'm super happy that I was able to get a fan that likes my Echo page to help edit the story for me because he added stuff that I never thought I would have added.

3. What's my expectations? For a story that's not human-to-pony. I just hope that people can just love this silly/random story. If this somehow got 50 likes then I would call that an accomplishment since I'm not asking for much.

I'm just curious if anypony that normally be on the bat pony thread, Echo fans or maybe Zee66 read this, would they like it? Only time will tell... I'm pretty sure I got Echo's character down well enough I think.

Thousands of years ago, Equestria was a dark place. Safety was a resource few could afford, and fewer still could provide. The creatures of the night were no exception, and when it came time for them to band together, a single pony rose to lead them.

This cruel, unforgiving man came to be known as Count Dracula.

Some years later, tensions had calmed. A leader was still needed, but many grew spiteful towards the Count's harsh, violent means. Amongst those unhappy was his daughter, and after much hardship, the reign of Count Dracula came to an end.

Thus was born Lady Dracula.

Now, Equestria has changed again. No longer is it fraught with danger and distrust, and Dracula has come to a decision. It's time for her to step down, and make room for a new Dracula.

Forty Two years after the return of Princess Luna, and twenty five years after the Elements of Harmony were broken, Equestria has entered a new age.
