To Gabriella, the gods have always been an unreachable wonder. They're present in everyone's lives. They protect the people, guide them, even bless them with magical abilities in some cases, turning them into legendary heroes. But they're still so far away from mortal sight, residing on the top of the tallest mountain, its peak hidden among the clouds. A simple meeting with them would answer so many questions people have about them.

So, Gabby decides to brave the mountain and reach them.

In the aftermath of banishing her corrupted sister, Celestia is left to tend to a land ravaged by fear of their own rulers, political discontent, racial tensions between the three tribes and her own crushing loneliness. A thousand years is a long time to wait for the return of the pony she was closer to than anyone else in the world; long enough that she needs to make other connections with other ponies to prevent herself from going mad and following her sister into corruption. The question is, can one pony ever be strong enough to rule a land for a thousand years and be both a good ruler and a good pony?

Written as a Patreon reward for Echo Located, who asked for a first person story about Celestia during the period of Luna's absence based on the poem 'The Seven Ages of Man' by William Shakespeare.

The ill-written letters to Starswirl invoked little sense. But his thoughts were blinded by the stress of our work. It was up to me to see the simpler, sensible answer, and to urge us to chase.

In truth, the most we had to work with was a profound bond. But as the earth pony saying goes:

This is a chapter by chapter rundown of the major events of Equestrian history. It is a more complex writing detailing the events, cultures, and characters of the history of pony kind. Written by a pony historian, it records a complete history.

Some basic historical knowledge of both the pony and human kind would be helpful when reading this. This is a complex version of the history, written to a higher level. If you cannot understand the terms used and historical events or documents referenced, you probably shouldn't be reading this story.

If you have any unanswered questions about the history, put them in the comments. I'll give you more information then you ever wanted to know, and if the question has a too lengthy answer, I'll put it into my personal archives of Things to Talk About in Later Stories.

Where did the tree of harmony come from? Apparently, it's actually really easy to plant more. Mistmane finds some seeds and tries to make Ponyville more beautiful, but Starswirl isn't having any of it.

DISCLAIMER: I came up with this story in late 2011 and started writing it in 2012. There are tremendous inconsistencies you will notice in this story, mostly having to do with Starswirl the Bearded and the Elements of Harmony. This is merely due to the fact that I had the summary drafted long before we saw the Season 7 finale which completely debunked my head-canon. Even though I have been able to change some things in this story to fit along with some canon in the past, I have decided to not change anything about Starswirl or the Elements since it was already a good enough story and I want to complete it as I originally intended to. As of now, you can consider this story to be "alternate universe" or "fan theory".

The pony residents of Equestria live in peace in their magnificent kingdom ruled by King Solmidas and Queen Chernalia. As their two daughters, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have both earned their cutie marks, it is now time for them to learn how to rule a country so that the crown can be passed on to them when the day comes for the King and Queen to give up their authority. With some training and help from their parents as well as the renowned unicorn wizard, Starswirl the Bearded, Celestia and Luna undergo many tasks and assignments. Once such assignment: making peace with the Griffon Kingdom lead by General Leogle.

Meanwhile, a wise magician and senator of the Alicornian parliament and a good friend to the royal family, known as Accord, sacrifices much of his own time to help improve the kingdom and make an even grander domain for the ponies he loves. Things seem to be going very well for the royals, but happiness soon turns to despair as the princesses' tasks become increasingly difficult and nearly impossible. Negotiations with the griffons continue to fail and rumors of war break out causing Celestia and Luna to doubt their abilities to rule Equestria.

Can the alicorns stop the imminent war to come between the once coexisting races? Why did general Leogle betray the alicorns so suddenly? And who is the real enemy in the midst of all this chaos? All will soon be revealed but it may come at the cost of dealing with the ultimate betrayal. Celestia and Luna will soon find that despite their failures, they are the only ones who can put an end to all of this. Together they will embark on a mission to save all of Equestria, unlock an ancient power hidden away for centuries, and learn that no matter how many times you fail, you are never useless and can still do great things if you believe in yourself.

Once, the Doctor traveled time with Star Swirl the Bearded, taking in the wonders of the universe as friends. However, some events are fixed, and Star Swirl had to leave so he could play an essential part in Equestria's history.

Queen Galaxia and king Cosmos had three daughters Celestia, Luna, and Twilight sparkle which meant that Equestria would have three rulers but in a war, the king died. the queen left Twilight on the doorstep Twilight Velvet and Night Light, fearing that the enemy might be after her and Twilight. After finding out that she was adopted Twilight want to go back in time to find answers to what happened to her parents and why do she and her adoptive parents share the same first name.
