The truth

Twilight had gotten a letter from her parents that said they wanted to tell her something really important, and it would be better if she could come to the Canterlot Palace. She had been called to Canterlot palace. When she arrived at Canterlot palace, Twilight went to the ballroom where she found the princesses were also waiting for her. She wondered what could have been so important that all of them needed to tell her in person.

"Twilight, there is something we have to tell you", exclaimed Twilight's mother.

"What is it?”, asked Twilight

"Just promise me that you will stay calm, and not get angry"

"I promise I will stay calm."

"Twilight, before we tell you, I want you to know that we love you no matter what."

Twilight wondered why her parents were telling her this now. What could her parents tell her that would make her anger?

Twilight's mother said in a soft tone, "Twilight, you are adopted. We found you on our doorstep as a foal."

Twilight was angry that her parents had hidden this from her,

"Do you know who my real parents are, and what happened to them?" asked Twilight in anger.

"We don't know who your real parents are. We looked all over Equestria for them, but never found them. That is why I asked the princesses to come as well, as they might be able to help you."

"Yes Twilight, we are here to help you," said Celestia, hoping to comfort her fellow princess.

"This might help you find your parents," said her mother, while handing her

"What is this?" asked Twilight, while looking at the box.

“We found this box when we found you at our doorstep. ,” Twilight’s father told

“We had no daughter of our own we had always wanted a daughter so when we found you we wanted to raise you as our own daughter so we had kept the box in the attic so that you don’t find about it when we’re cleaning the attic we found the box we thought you should know the truth, “ twilight’s mother said

“Maybe the Princesses can help you with this box since it’s very old,” Twilight’s mother said.

"We will leave you alone with the princesses so that you can investigate the clues and hopefully find your real parents", Twilight’s father said, as they left the ballroom.

Twilight opened the box to find that it contained a letter and a pendant. As she began to read the letter, she noticed it had tear marks...

Dear reader,

This is my foal. Her name is Twilight

Sparkle. Unfortunately, I have to leave

her here as some people are chasing us.

They have already killed her father, and

now they are after me and I fear they

might hurt my daughter. I only ask that you raise and protect

my daughter as if she was your own, treat her with love and care, and please

don’t tell her the truth until you think she is

ready. Only give her this pendant if she

knows the truth.

The letter was signed by a pony who twilight did not recognize

“Can I see the letter?" asked Celestia

“Yes, here you go ", Twilight said, giving the letter to the princess.

Celestia almost fainted seeing the signature. “Luna, look at the signature!” Celestia said to Luna.

"Tia, how could that be?" Luna asked in complete shock.

"What’s the matter?" asked Twilight.

"The signature on the letter is of our mother, Queen Galaxia. Twilight, the letter also mentioned a pendant. Did the box have a pendant or something like that?"

"Yes, it did" replied Twilight.

Twilight handed the pendant to Celestia. The pendant was designed in the shape of the Sun and the Moon, and a large purple star surrounded by five smaller white stars.

"Twilight, Luna and I have similar pendants."

Celestia and Luna showed Twilight their pendants. Celestia's pendant was of the Sun, and Luna's was of the Sun and the Moon.

"Celestia, do you think I could be your sister?" asked Twilight.

"Yes, but I am not sure," said Celestia.

"Maybe Starswirl has some idea, he was our parent's Royal Wizard," Luna suggested.

"Great idea, Luna. I will send a letter asking him to come," Celestia said

Celestia mentioned in the letter that they wanted to know more about their parents, and as he was the royal Wizard she asked him to come. Celestia sent the letter with magic.

Starswirl came after some time

"What’s the matter?" asked Starswirl.

"Do Luna and I have a sister, Starswirl?” asked Celestia. “You knew our parents very well."

"Yes, you do. There were supposed to be three rulers of Equestria, but I don't know who the third is. Your mother never told me about her."

"Look at this letter and pendant. Do you recognize it?"

"Where did you get this from?" asked a surprised Starswirl.

"Why? Do you recognize it?" asked Twilight, hoping that Starswirl had some answer.

"Yes. The Queen wrote this letter, and the pendant was given to Celestia, Luna and her third daughter"

"Is it possible that Twilight is the third daughter ?" asked Luna.

"Yes, it is possible, as she is an alicorn and her magic is very powerful. When Queen Galaxia gave up your sister, she told me that when she grows up, she will be connected with potent magic, and. But to be sure, I need a strand of hair from everyone."

"For what?" asked Celestia.

"I have a spell which will tell us if Twilight is your sister," said Starswirl.

All of them handed him a strand of hair.

"If the result says matched it means Twilight is your sister, but if the result says no match it means Twilight is not your sister," Starswirl explained.

Starswirl cast the spell and the result was matched.

"So, does that mean Twilight is our sister?" asked Celestia.

"Yes," answered Starswirl.

"But what happened to my mother ?" asked Twilight.

"The Queen did not want to leave you, but there was no other choice. you were born an alicorn and the Queen feared that you might be in danger because, you see, there was a great war happening. The enemy had killed King Cosmo and they were after the Queen as well, so she had to leave you. She feared that the enemy would harm you also as you were very young, but the enemy had captured her and killed her so nobody knows what happened to her."

"But if Twilight is our sister, why don’t we remember her, whereas we remember the great war even if we were young? "Celestia asked

"The queen had your memories of Twilight erased," said Starswirl.

“But why?” Luna asked.

"I do not know that."

"You said that I was born an alicorn,” Twilight said, “but I only became an alicorn recently, after finishing one of your spells. So how can that be?"

“The queen's magic was very powerful, so that might have had something to do with it, but I'm not sure,” replied Starswirl.

“Ok. Celestia and Luna, do you have anything left, from our parents?” asked Twilight hopefully.

“All we have left of our parents is this photo”, Celestia said as she teleported the photo.

The image was two alicorns with Luna and Celestia on a hill.

“Is there any way to know more about my parents?” Twilight asked.

“To my knowledge even if there were somepony who knows about it they might probably have died as this happened a long time ago”

"Is there any way we can go back in time, and not mess with the present?" asked Twilight.

"Yes, there is one spell, but it will require the magical power of all three of you. You can go back in time as observers and no one will be able to see you if it is ok with Celestia and Luna."

"It's ok with us," Celestia and Luna replied together.

"We also want to know more about our past,” said Celestia.

Starswirl gave them a spell with which they could go back in time and all three of them went back in time when Twilight was a filly.

Might want to fix the story description, a lot of errors, like the name Twilight starting with a lowercase as well as the first letter after a fullstop being a capital letter. First impressions matter!

Huh, so I little update on this I don't really have the motivation for this anymore and I have long since moved on from mlp especially since fim ended. I have found new interests and new fandoms so there won't be any more chapters for this, thou in the future I might write one last chapter so I can somewhat give it a satisfying ending but that is a big might. This was originally planned to be a multi-part story which is not happening anymore. I hope you all understand and thanks for all the support this got it really means a lot to me ❤️
