Applebloom has grown tired of being at a disadvantage when it comes to earning cutie marks, and she doesn't want to be involved in Scootaloo's pegasus-related opportunities. There is only one logical conclusion to the belief: try to be a unicorn. Sure being great at magic is one thing, but how does it go once she actually succeeds, but more importantly, how long can her magic abilities last?

Originally an idea stemming from a random prompt from englishwitch on a forum in the "Twilight's Library" group.
I started this because I thought it was for a write-off, but continued because I liked the concept.
Not sure if this is what was meant by the suggestion, but this is what I came up with when I thought of the prompt.

Twilight has the power to change the biological structure of anypony, or anydragon into something else. And, after seeing Rarity fall over other stallions, Spike the dragon wants Twilight to change him into a pony so that he could finally have a chance to be with the mare of his dreams. She gives in and casts a spell on Spike, turning him into a pony. However, this spell is temporary, unless Spike gets his cutie mark within three days.

But becoming a pony for the sake of Rarity comes at a price; Twilight Sparkle will lose her one and only number one assistant, something that is dear to both her and Spike.

Hey, I'm Sweetie Belle, and this year at school is pretty much going to be the best ever. I mean, it has to be, since if it isn't, my friends will all leave me as soon as they get their cutie marks. Also, I have to deal with Diamond Tiara being in one of my classes, and she's pretty much as terrible as always. Plus, the teacher for that class is a big mean jerk. Oh! And apparently I'm not good at acting, making the list of things I am good at exactly zero. But besides the fact that my friends are probably going to leave me, my acting class hates me, and I'm not really good at anything, everything's great. It has to be. After all, this is the best year ever.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders never got along with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Scootaloo hates them more then the other two, and wants nothing more then for them to disappear off the face of Equestria. Applebloom and Sweetiebelle started to learn more about Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, and what made them turn into what they are today. However Scootaloo doesn't seem to care to learn about them at all. Rarity was dragged into this conflict, and wants to know herself what happened to those two fillies to cause them to act the way they do.

Sweetie Belle Walks into Rarity's workroom and discovers something especially troubling. Now it's up to Rarity's friend to sniff out Rarity's new problem.
