She's sick. (It's amazing how often that happens.) Pipp can't control when she gets sick! (Or so she claims.) But yes, this time, the royal family sort of has a prior commitment. So Pipp really should show up this time, just to smile at the populace. Or rather, the smile can show up. It just needs somepony who can carry it in.

So when you look at it that way, this is all Zipp is being asked to do: wear a dark plastic shell over her own head for hours, in the middle of a power broker gathering, while her sister's face smiles out from the digital front panel.

Pipp really doesn't see any problems with this.

Sunny hasn't talked about her father with her new friends. Her old friends, Hitch and Sprout, are the only ones who know about what happened to him.

But when Sunny doesn't show up for a meeting with her new friends one day, Izzy, Zipp and Pipp learn why as Hitch tells them about Argyle. He also reveals what happened to him and how it's impacted Sunny.

Armed with this new knowledge, the three mares decide there's only one course of action to take: They'll all visit Argyle's grave to honor his legacy, and to be there for Sunny as she grieves.

While looking for answers about the past, the mane five discover the old changeling hive, and with it they find the only changeling left, who proceeds to tell them his story.

In Bridlewood you're not allowed out of your house on Nightmare Night, due to all the bad mojo, but when Izzy's invited to a party at Maretimebay with Sunny, and her other friends she assumes it's just going to be them watching a few films and helping eachother board up the windows to keep the ghosts away. She's wrong, oh so very very wrong!

Since magic has been returned to the three pony tribes, Queen Haven has been sneaking out for unexplained reasons. That is, until she's spotted with Alphabittle in secret.

It isn't long before the media in Zephyr Heights goes into overdrive, speculating that the two leaders are a couple and that they're officially going to get engaged. When word of this reaches Bridlewood, Izzy eagerly anticipates planning a wedding.

But Zipp and Pipp aren't as enthusiastic about the whole thing. Pipp especially is less than thrilled with the prospect of her mother marrying somepony else. And it all has to do with what happened to Zephyr Heights' last king.

As a timeless immortal being, I never understood death and loss. I was willing to make friends and play nice, I even fell in love. But then one day I lost the pony I loved most, and sought to escape my grief. It went fine for a time, until somepony restored magic to Equestria.

Hitch was having a pretty normal day, until a strange creature appeared on the road and transformed him into a mare. He kept going on about somepony named Fluttershy, before vanishing and imploding a few buildings. Hitch misses the days before he was a national hero in constant peril.

Zephyr Breeze saved Equestria from certain destruction.

At least that's what the book says. Who would have a reason to lie about such a thing?
