While everyone is away for the Camp Everfree trip, Peter decides to stay behind amidst the Man-Spider aftermath. However, Trixie’s father, Jackpot, comes into town for his magical performance tour (and hidden illegal matters) as the Great and Powerful Mysterio. Now, Spider-Man must contend with the magician’s powerful illusions and technology, all while trying to preserve his friendship with Trixie and learning of her family's turmoil.

Life is never simple.

This story is a sequel to Trixie Hits The Jackpot

Jackpot comes to Ponyville for something long overdue: A reunion with his only daughter, Trixie. And he decides to pay her a visit at her new profession: The School of Friendship's guidance counselor.

Trixie, for her part, is completely unaware of the reunion that is about to unfold. After all, she hasn't seen her father in so long he might as well not exisit.

Is Trixie looking forward to finally getting to see her father again after all these years? Or have the years of separation left too big of a wound to be healed?

This story is a sequel to Road to Family

With Starlight now having patched things up with her dad in front of Trixie, the subject turns to the matter of family for Trixie. Specifically Trixe's father, a subject that Trixie has noticeably avoided.

When pressed though, Trixie willingly confesses that her father is Jackpot and is a magician like her. A father that she has only vague memories of and has not been in contact with for years. As a result the bond between the two is strained.

Hoping to prevent her friend from going down the same path, Starlight convinces Trixie to write a letter to Jackpot. Though hesitant at first, Trixie reluctantly warms to the idea as a way to try and make peace with the impact of her father's departure from her life. But what will Trixie write, and is a letter going to be able to ease her pain?
