This story is a sequel to Sunset Shimmer - Six Friends One Heart

The goddesses of creation have found their champions - Two Sisters from another Mister, fresh from the memories of their battles to overcome their own demons, bound by their love for one another, their friends, and their desire to help others overcome their darkness.
This story is a cross-over between the Shimmering Hearts verse from Six Friends One Heart, and the magical wild verse from A Certain Scientific Railgun and it's companion stories. The insane magic in Railgun, psychic and otherwise, along with the intrigue, drama, and friendships in those stories made this a natural fit with Shimmering Hearts.
Please note that it is not necessary to read the prequel to enjoy this story, though it does provide some background for the setting and characters.
Quite the time jump I must say.
Couple questions:
1. Given the time jump and the fact that this is an AU where Sunset loses the use of her legs after she was attacked, do the rest of the events of EqG still follow? Legend of Everfree, the specials etc., just altered with Sunset in a wheel chair?
2. Unless this AU has a different timeline of events, wouldn't the Sirens and the Battle of the Bands come first then Midnight Sparkle and the Friendship Games, like in canon?

Yes, there is a time jump that skips several stories I was writing. I jumped ahead to the girls graduating and going on with their lives. Which includes, no surprises here, Sunset and SciTwi heading off to college together.
The differences in this AU, without spoiling too much,
There is plenty of lore extended from both shows and combined in the story. You don't really need to read the prequel to understand this story, nor is anyone missing out from my not yet publishing the other stories. This story is written, and I am publishing a chapter a day until it is completely published.
And yes, this is a crossover of A Certain Scientific Railgun and Equestria Girls.

I'm kind of interested in this now before I was like the upper part of the story makes sense but lower part are just like A certain magical Index slapped on to this fic I don't get the tie in of this anime to this fic but I'm curious where this will go from here so I will be waiting for the next chapter no matter how long they will take, also when are those two finally gonna admit that they see each other as more than friends🤣 stressing the word friendly when doing something together usually meant it's not what you actually meant and even if you're straight you can always bend🤣

Okay no lie, in the first act the Index part is paraphrased and included just to give a reference to what is going on concurrently, so when Sunset and Twilight do go to Academy City (it is kind of obvious that's going to happen, right?) then we get true crossover, not just pastiche. Sorry about the pacing of the first act. There's things happening there that (I hope) will make more sense as the story progresses.
And the story is already complete, so I just keep dropping a chapter (or two if one of them is an interlude) every day until we hit the end. Sorry to say though that the sequel that tells the rest of the story is only 2/3 written, but I am working on that feverishly.
Also to put in some perspective, when I drop the completed epub for this story onto my kindle it is about 1000 pages. The Sequel looks to be about 1/3 times longer when completed, so roughly 1400 pages maybe, and the follow on to that looks to be closer to 2000 unless I start cutting like crazy. In addition there is an episodic prequel to the entire AU coming out that will easily top 1000 pages when done, as well as follow on stories that will likely be close to that size as well that are outlined and story-boarded at this point.
Now all I got to do is live long enough to finish them all.

I'm about 1/3 into the writing on the next one, while kicking out biweekly chapters on Tales of an Equestrian Battle Mage just to stay sane. 
Just a heads up, part of the reason I have to completely write these crossovers before I start releasing them is I have to write the chapters and events out of order then put them together correctly on release, due to the complexity of the A Certain Scientific Railgun / A Certain Magical Index world and timeline. Getting everything right when I write ends up too often being an iterative process, but I love the franchise too much to not put in the effort to at least try to get it right.

I can relate to Accelerator. He is a certifiable homicidal prick. But as it is a crossover, he and Touma and Railgun do all appear in the story even though they are not the main characters. Sorry. 
So I must ask, is Sunset crippled for good or are her legs just healing?
No wonder it's been leaking magic like crazy it's already charged with magic so of course it's going to receive Magic on Earth so therefore the Matrix would funnel the magic from Earth to the other end of the receiver where it's already positively charged much like a magnet it'll attract the magic from Earth to Mars and start leaking out magic particles like freaking radiation through a cracked Nuclear Plant
