Everything in Canterlot has finally calmed down when it comes to magic, and the girls have learned how to use their powers properly. However, all the crazy stuff that's happened has drawn many dangerous people to the little band, and the Rainbooms might not be able to handle them all.

Luckily, the two groups that don't want to hurt them also happen to be the two most dangerous groups.

Years have passed since the Great War. A retired Twilight Sparkle visits the grave of one of Equestria's fallen heroes and sits down to rest and converse.

Thesis has been struggling as a professor for years. There is an island in Luna Bay that holds her spellbound, because nopony has explored it in recent years. It's right nearby, but there seems to be a lack of interest in the place.
That may have to do with the poisonous plants dominating the flora on the island. It's a choked mess of poison and vines, and inhospitable to all but a single tribe of ponies. How do they survive? Why do they live there and not leave?
After a convincing speech, she gets the funding to manage the trip, but despite the hardships in getting volunteers and supplies, she's on her way soon enough. What she and the others find, isn't at all as great as she thought it would be.

Everything started out so simple. So bright, and pure. A peaceful nation smashed by something hideous. It broke everything.
They broke everything.

It was dark here, quiet even. He hated the quiet. He remembered how he came here. How he was betrayed. He had tried to get out here many times before. Those attempts had always ended in Failure. He was angered. He found a creature to aid him. He is no longer angry.

Three months have come and gone since her freedom from the Nightmare, and in that time, she has done much learning. Learning of the new world around her, and what wonders a far more modern Equestria brings. With all light comes darkness; she of all knows this well. The texts she spends time flipping through often do tell of dark, unpleasant things, but all have seemed to be in the past.

Venturing into the world around her, spending nights high in the skies over cities and walking down long town roads, she is quick to discover the present holds its own secrets. In the shadows of accomplishment hides a beast which she is determined to slay.

Summary: When Rainbow Dash performs her first Sonic Rainboom as a filly, she causes a young filly Twilight Sparkle to shoot several beams into the sky. Not long afterwards, an old foe of Luke Skywalker’s terrorizes the land. And when a new foe, even deadlier than any enemy ever before seen, is born, he wishes to destroy the Elements of Harmony. If he succeeds, Equestria, followed by the universe, will crumble. Not only that, but the human has connections with him. Connections which make things worse. Together, the group must stop this foe. The stakes have never been higher, and if they fail, the universe will fall.

Most think that the life of a princess is perfect, amazing, any positive adjective you could think of. Well, it's not. My ascension to a princess brought great things yes, but they also brought me more stress, trials, and worst of all, fears. Luckily, I have my beautiful wife to help me get through them, but sometimes, you are alone and nopony can help you. That's how I felt that night...
