When his secret is discovered, the young colt is forced to run for his life and quickly finds himself simply trying to survive in a land that he has only ever heard about in rumors and history class, a land ruled by an iron-hoofed tyrant: Equestria.

Life's hard when you're small, especially if you're a breezie. The ponies keep trying to knock down your tree-home, steal all your fruit, and now they're about to bring back winter and doom your hive to a frozen fate.

Misty has had enough. She's going to leave her tree, stop the Summer Shutdown, and save the world.

After all, someone's got to do it.

The heavenly bodies are so simple. The sun and moon are guided by the powers of the princesses, and the only thing any average pony needs to worry about is if said princesses come in conflict with each other, right?

Not quite.

When the powers of the heavens turn out to be a little more complex and threatening than anypony expected, it's going to take more than one Sun Princess's power to stop the storm that's coming.

While returning from a political summit in the dragon lands, King Thorax and Prince Pharynx navigate their way through a dense woods. When gnarled branches and twisting shadows take shape, the brothers find themselves holding their ground against the changeling's former tyrant. But while one brother readies himself for a fight, the other faces his predecessor unarmed, seeking not victory, but answers.

For centuries, ponykind thought Princess Platinum's splendorous silver crown lost for all time, but it has been found. Twilight Sparkle, the self-proclaimed Princess of Thieves, has tracked it down to the long-fallen Diamond Dog kingdom of Erebark, and means to enter the mountain to retrieve her kin's lost heirloom and settle scores with Princess Celestia.

Unfortunately, there are one or two details she didn't realize going into this mess. Namely, that she'll need to steal from the gilded gallery of one of the mightiest dragons ever to walk the land.
