Princess Celestia—or Tia, as her sister prefers to call her—has a fairly simple life. Stay inside as much as possible, avoid making new friends, deal with the politics of Equestria, and try to care for her easily excited little sister. But life becomes slightly more difficult when a mysterious force takes over Equestria. Reluctantly, she's forced to go on a quest to discover the mysterious Elements of Harmony with her sister. Things become more complicated, though, when a third member joins their party.

What happened to Pinkie Pie and Rarity after they were left together in the desert, when the others continued chasing Applejack?
Why were they riding a hoofcar back to Ponyville?

A random question about who's the better baker - Pinkie Pie or Applejack - leads the two Earth pony friends to think back to when they were fillies and how they met, became friends, and learned to bake from one of Ponyville's most notable bakers.

Celestia finds herself in a predicament when she finds a bright red dot, and decides to give chase. Will she ever catch the dot, and where is the dot coming from?

After a busy day of reading love stories, a fly invades Twilight's personal space and wants to get rid of it. With the aid of Spike, will they ever catch the fly, or will it evade them at every turn?

Immediately following the events of Appletheosis, Applejack must relearn her place in the world as the new Princess Mara of Equestria. Meanwhile, her family and friends have their own troubles with the changes. Through it all, little Merry May, first in the service of her goddess, tries to hold things together and keep everypony sane and happy.

I won't tell you what to do, (this time) but reading Appletheosis first is highly recommended. The Shadow of the Goddess also provides useful background and will become very relevant in later chapters.

On the wake of a nightmare, Twilight finds herself trapped in a strange and disturbing place with no explanation of how she got there. She has no memory of the night before, no understanding of how this could be. And she is not alone. Many ponies—mares and stallions, all around her age, have been taken from their homes by ponies who promise they are all part of something 'divine'.

She and the others are forced to participate in tests, both mental and physical, fight and run through brutal mazes. The only thing Twilight has to keep her mind together are the bonds she's managed to form with others and the hope that her friends will come to the rescue. But this place is far more sinister than she knows. Not until ponies are taken away for "Advanced Testing" does she realize just how hopeless her situation is.

Meanwhile, life in Ponyville goes on as always... as though Twilight had never existed at all.

Despite Pinkie Pie priding herself as friend to everypony in Ponyville, she's never seen eye-to-eye with the matriarch of the new family across the way. But her resentment towards the party-pooping Polly T. Burro turns into outright paranoia when the donkey lets slip she knows one of Pinkie's secrets. But how could she? Only four ponies, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity were there for the incident in question, and Pinkie Pinkie-Promised them all to secrecy.

She comes to the conclusion that one of her friends is telling tales. Christening herself 'Smiles' to conceal her identity, she'll have to rely on the help of her erstwhile assistant 'Mr. Gummy-yum' and reluctant librarian Twilight Sparkle to root out whoever's betraying her confidence before her deepest, darkest secret is revealed. But as the tangled web of deceit she's weaving gets stickier and sticker, will Pinkie be able to keep herself from getting permanently stuck out in the cold?

Rainbow Dash learns that she is not the Element of Bravery. Written with a word-count of exactly 1000 words.
