Fluttershy comes back home after a long day, but one last surprise is waiting for her

Discord has been away for a couple of months due to some royal duties from Celestia. Cause of this he hasn't seen Fluttershy for quite a while. Now that he has some free time might as well catch up.

Discord feels different when he's around a certain pony, but is afraid of what she would think of him. So he makes a few changes to himself. He tries his best to keep it a secret, just to be close to her for one day.

This story is a sequel to Detente

Discord takes Fluttershy to see something chaotic he's made that he thinks will be considered harmless and beautiful -- rain made out of light. Fluttershy agrees, but fears that ponies won't accept it anyway. They discuss friendship, and Fluttershy comes to some unwanted conclusions regarding her own feelings. One-sided, mild Fluttercord.

This story is the bridge between Princess Twilight Sparkle Endcaps and Elements of Opposition. To those who have not read the story before, and who like happy endings: don't read the second chapter. It leads directly into Elements of Opposition, and is the main reason the story has a "Sad" tag.

A lot has happened since Celestia and Luna disappeared nine hundred years ago. There are no wars, no diseases, no pain, no death. Princess Twilight, Discord, and Spike do everything to ensure that the utopia continues.

But even the most ideal paradises have ponies that wish it wasn't so.

Princess Twilight Sparkle should have known. She should have at least seen the deception. The result of her error led to Equestria falling into the combined forces of the detestable King Sombra and the changeling Queen Chrysalis. Both had been presumed defeated. A foolish presumption. Evil never dies easily. Now it is up to Twilight Sparkle, trapped with Discord in a cave, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Spike, and a few others to return Equestria back over to the rightful rulers as well as defeating evil.

My unicorn parents called me a worthless mud pony. They pushed me every day to overcome my lowly status. When I woke up one morning with my cutie mark, I thought they would love me. I couldn’t have been farther from the truth.

It was not destiny or enjoyment that led me to discover the cello and composing. My parents made that decision, deciding before I was born I would continue their family legacy of famous musicians.

They did not realize what that decision would cost them.
