The surface isn't safe anymore.

In the ruined depths of Canterlot, a team of brave salvagers discover six mares, long forgotten but miraculously preserved. Though these mares cannot remember what happened to their world, they possess powerful magic that hasn't been seen for centuries.

Now the Elements of Harmony are thrust headlong into a world beyond recognition. Twilight and her friends must dive into the sunken remains of history to determine what happened, but Equestria isn't the harmonious land it once was. Before they can focus wholly on the past, they may first have to survive the present.

It isn't going to be easy.

Hello! I am the late Twilight Sparkle. The book that you will coninue on to read is my knowledge summarised into as little a package as I could possibly manage!
I hope you, dear reader, find this to your liking and that it advances your knowledge of the magical field. Who knows? Maybe I’ve inspired the next me!

Twilight likes books. Twilight knows that not everyone does, but Twilight knows that everyone loves some level of knowledge. So, the obvious conclusion is a short guide to her favourite subject, yes?

Spoiler, Twilight is dead, giving up her alicorn immortality as Pinkie Pie, the final Element of Harmony, died. Her will includes three books of compiled knowledge meant for the reading of your average Equestrian, and not for prodigies like her; the first has been released, and it is magic.

What would you do if you saw something in the sky that wasn't normally there? Most people would probably ignore it, go about their lives as usual. You are no ordinary person though, are you? No, the curiosity nags at you, ever blinking and twirling up in the sky. Perhaps you'd ask a friend, point it out to them?

And what happens when they don't see what you see?

You might, reasonably, think they simply don't see what you do. You might, also reasonably, start asking a few of your other friends what they think about it.

Say, perhaps, you do all of this, but the thing in the sky only seems to appear to you. Is someone else in on a prank? Are you being punked? Punished, perhaps?

Maybe you're losing your mind? It's not like you'd know for sure...

This story takes place before Twilight becomes an alicorn, and after Discord's rehabilitation.

A journal was found. Old and weathered with years untold. The first entry was dated yesterday:

My name is Twilight Sparkle, and for the last 33 days I've been stuck in a time-loop, repeating the 23^rd of March, 2 A.R. It is still unknown how the loop started, nor how I can end it. All I can say with any amount of certainty is that time for the rest of the world resets every night, and every morning I wake up it is the morning of the 23^rd.

Nurse Redheart just wants to see a nice sunrise after her long overnight. A new member of the staff unknowingly releases the flood gates of medical Tartarus when he mutters the wrong word.

Twilight and her five friends are transported during a botched spell, across dimensions to... Ponyville, Equestria? But not the same one that they knew. Sitting on a bench is Harpsy and Babar. The Doctoress avoids apples from an aspiring Applebuck. And in a library across town, six stallions join their forces as they try to decipher the appearance of filly look-alikes of themselves around Ponyville!

The Elements of Harmony are defeated and Nightmare Moon stands on Equestria's throne as their new Queen. Is Equestria doomed to suffer through night time eternal or will they be... perfectly fine? Twilight finds her new job as slave or "personal assistant" to her new ruler to be a bit maddening. But is this evil sarcastic queen really as bad as she originally believed? And just how many others are diabolical enough to cash in on the change in staff? Can Nightmare truly run a peaceful Equestria? Let me just answer all these questions right here in the description...

Bon Bon's voice is funny, and that's about all that anypony who meets her notices, as her marefriend Lyra soon steals the spotlight with her explosive personality, strange obsessions, and curious beliefs. And why not? Bon Bon is, after all, a perfectly ordinary, boring pony in every way but two: her voice, and the carefully kept secret that she isn't really a pony.
