Wallflower Blush has always been used to straying as far from being the center of attention as possible. Away from a disgruntled family and preferring her own company, Wallflower finds solace in the park. But a typical day changes the moment she meets Sunset Shimmer, leading her to confront her own feelings in ways she couldn't have imagined. Through several trials and tribulations does she start to ponder over the possibilities that her life could mean more than what she's had in mind. But one question still remains: Can two girls with opposite personalities find common ground?

My main entry for \o/ Scampy's SunFlower Shipping Contest \o/. Thought I'd take the prompt in a different direction.

Sunset should be happy. She's completely reformed from her old ways, help saved the human world multiple times, and has many friends she considers closer than family. And yet, underneath all the good she now has, some part of her can't help but feel like she hasn't truly earned it. She hides this feeling well, even from herself at times, but when she suspects that one of her new friends is struck with the same feeling, she'll find that she can't ignore the truth that's right in front of her. And maybe she'll find that mutual feelings mean more than she could have ever expected...

An entry for Oroboro's Sunset Shipping contest (at the very last minute... again). I'm proving to be very bad at keeping to any kind of timeline/deadline... But hey, at least it's done! Once again, not planning to win anything with this story, just wanted to add my humble submission to glorious sunwaifu the contest. Just the contest...

Edit: Okay, so I just took a second look at the contest page and I noticed something I completely skipped over when originally reading the contest. Apparently there was an actual prompt we were supposed to follow when writing... Which I totally and accidentally ignored and did not use in the slightest. Whoops. Ah well, way too late to fix it now and to be honest trying to shoe-horn that in there would have been really annoying anyway with all the other stuff I had in mind. So meh, if it disqualifies me from consideration then so be it. I hope you guys enjoy the story anyway.

To be alone is to be Wallflower Blush. Such has been her life for as long as she can remember. Finding a mystical stone artifact that can manipulate memory just seems like a slap in the face given that no one can ever remember her anyway. Yet her curiosity lingers, and she soon finds someone to help her answer her questions. As well as the unsolved mystery of her life that is to be... Wallflower Blush.

For little Wallflower Blush, life had always been quiet here in Canterlot, and everything was where it should be. Her family's flower shop was running just fine, school was just enough of a manageable hassle, and though she found it a lonely life, it was a life she was fine with.

Then one day, who else should she find loitering about in the flower shop, with a whole baggage of issues to sort out, if not the Princess' own personal student? And when she starts talking to her, and no other, perhaps it won't be so lonely after all.

It seems like a curse.

Wallflower is living a peaceful life in the big city. It is a place of comfort for her. A place for her to grow. But the place she has chosen is expensive and requires another person to help pay for the rent and utilities. It wouldn't be a problem for her except that every six months when the lease needs to be renewed, the roommate leaves for one reason or another and they never speak to her again. It has been like this for the past couple of years for Wallflower. The constant loneliness and stress of being abandoned. She needs a friend that she can be important for. One who would help her and make her feel wanted. Alas, it feels pointless for Wallflower to try. Everyone she knows eventually leaves her.

Then one night, Wallflower decides to go out and just relax. Enjoy the coming summer. It was during this night that she bumps into Sunset Shimmer, an old friend she hasn't talk to in a while. Turns out Sunset has been displaced and is looking for a place to stay.

So Wallflower offers her place to stay for the summer. But with each month that passes by, the two of them grow closer together. Will Wallflower be able to keep Sunset when the inevitable happens and they are forced apart? Will they be able to upgrade their relationship to something beyond just friends? Is there a way for Wallflower to break this curse?

Only time will tell.
