Anonymous, the only human in Equestria, has long had to place a limit on the number of questions Twilight can ask about humans. Thing is, Twilight clearly needs to know about human adrenaline. Obviously, the only solution is to rope the whole town into a huge scheme to get him to use it.

This story is a sequel to Isolation

The shuttle was discovered twelve years after its parent ship was reported missing. Inside, only one mare is found. Some are happy to see her, one mare in particular; while others want an explanation. And they're going to get it.

A/N: I'd highly suggest reading the previous story, seeing as this one won't make much sense without it.

The year is 1019. 

And the World is on fire. 

The Final Showdown of the Griffonian Empire and the Republicans in the North is at claw. 

Meanwhile, the nation of Equestria has finally destroyed the Changeling threat once and for all.

However, it was only doable at the cost of their principles, morals, and their Princess’s sanity.

The heir to the Crystal Empire, Princess Flurry Heart has just turned fifteen years old. However, the world is crumbling down around the doomed landlocked Kingdom. Just a month prior, Flurry Heart was nearly abducted by her aunt, Princess Twilight Sparkle only stopped due to the timely intervention of her mother. But will it be enough to stop their defeat? 

And what about after? 

Will the new Solar Empress have them executed? Converted to another drone like Flurry’s Aunt? 

Only time will tell. 

This story is actually based on an Equestria at war playthrough I did a while back, so I am using its timeline to the best of my memory, if an event is impossible in the mod that occurs in the story, please tell me so I can fix it.

After his violent defeat, the former tyrant King Sombra has managed to claw his way back from the land of the dead and has returned to Equestria to seek revenge on Princess Celestia and the Elements of Harmony. However, the Emperor of Darkness is no fool. He knows that he cannot simply seek retribution on the Main Six or the Princess of Day, so he waits, gathering intel on his foes, learning of their weaknesses. When the time is right, he will strike. Can our heroes overcome King Sombra's plot for vengeance?

Twilight Sparkle, still adjusting to her new role as a Princess of Equestria, finds herself plagued by stress and self-doubt as she questions her worth to her friends and to her country. Unknown to everypony, Twilight included, she has become possessed by the same force that turned Princess Luna into Nightmare Moon. Soon, Twilight is transformed into Midnight Sparkle, self-proclaimed Queen of Magic and sets off to conquer Equestria for herself. Desperate, her friends reluctantly team up with Sombra in order to get their Twilight back and end the threat that started a thousand years ago once and for all.

There, he waits for his chance to take revenge against Princess Celestia and conquer Equestria, though his affection for both his long-lost daughter and the mare that he loves have him question everything that he knows. Can the shadow-pony learn forgiveness and mercy or will he let his deep-seated anger and desire for vengeance consume him?
