Starlight Glimmer waits patiently for her family to come on hearthswarming eve, so does Spike.

My own personal rewrite of the episode A Royal Problem. With Spike in Starlight Glimmer's place.

When Spike is called in for Royal Business to spend time with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, the two princesses have been getting rather angry at each other, both claiming the other doesn't know how the other feels when doing their job. So, the Princesses decide to switch places and see who has the better life, but what affect would this have on Spike?

A couple typos and things were fixed/edited.

This takes place shortly after Season 4.

Spike has endured being alone before. be it a couple of hours or some days, it didn't matter to him while he was an obnoxious child.

But that changed with the pass of time, he learned how precious life really is. how beautiful is to have a place to call home inside the hearts of the ones that you love. And most importantly, how difficult is to live without them.

Now Spike has to bear his feelings and fears, as a mission of friendship takes his friends through a journey. A long journey which seems to have no end.

Rarity has finally done it. Spike crush on her as gone to far and she nroke his heart. To deal with his emotion spike go to conterlot where Princess Celestrai throws a few parties to cheer him up. Soon the young drake find himself a big hit. invitation come in for grand openings, celeberty bashes, annual balls , and even private gathering of the uper crust. Spike is thrilled make new friends and unknowingly ends up making favors for his friends benifits. while many ponies are happy to have the new exotic dragon to spice up there party. other find it a tad annoying a dragon would be aloud in conterlot with so many important ponys. Other find this dragon the key to gainging access to not only princess Celestrai but to the ever alusive princess Twilight sparkle.

Princess Celestia goes through the same routine day after day and has grown tired of it, even with her long life cycle. So when her old friend, Twilight Velvet has an idea sure to catch some attention, the ruler of the sun agrees, albeit begrudgingly.

Now connecting with other females who value their children lives above themselves like herself, she begins to find comfort in those she considers friends.

Until an accidental slip of the tongue reveals her true identity and the fate of her son's life could very well be in the balance.

Why couldn't she just be a normal pony?

Author's Note: There will be more characters then the tags suggest and current cover art used until I have the money to have a custom one made, apologizes. Also major Discord/Pinkie Pie, though Discord himself won't appear in the story, just mentioned. Rated Teen for mild language (it's me, come on) and alcohol.

Centuries have gone by since the events of FIM, and life goes on for Spike. He has noticed that something isn't all right with Princess Luna and writes her a letter about three small fillies and how Ponyville is still the same.

Greed, Lust, Wrath, Pride, Envy, Gluttony, and Sloth, the seven dragon's sins that Spike has to hold tight inside the back of his mind each day of his life in order to grow up as the best and most reliable dragon this world could have.

Unfortunately for him, his own expertise at keeping those sins at bay make it impossible for his friends to notice his daily struggles. That is until the day Rainbow Dash teased the dragon enough to pop a genius idea into the chaotic mind of Discord.

(Takes place immediately after "Luna Eclipsed", colab with yodajax10.) Another Nightmare Night has come and gone, and now Ponyville begins the process of cleaning up after it.

Spike offers to help out, but Twilight reassures him that they can handle things on their own. So, reluctantly, the baby dragon decides to spend a little time with Princess Luna, who has just come out of her shell.

But what can the two talk about? Quite a lot, actually. And both will come to realize, they have something in common.

After receiving an urgent letter calling for her help, Ember, Dragon Lord of all dragons, answers the call to aid Spike.

No matter what the problem may be, she knows it can't be so bad.
