Rainbow Dash, one of the best rookie flyers in Equestria, a loyal friend, and the newest resident of Ponyville. She seems unstoppable, a cyan bolt of lightning tearing through her competition as she trains to join the Wonderbolts. One day, however, a stunt during training takes a horrifying turn as a brutal accident lands her in the hospital. She recovers to a clean bill of health physically, but she has suffered severe brain damage, and has forgotten most of her life. As she begins to recover her memories, a small orange Pegasus filly starts following her around, cheering Rainbow on when she performs her death-defying stunts and calling Rainbow her hero and idol. Its been a few months since Scootaloo found out that Rainbow Dash was her mother, and the two couldn't be happier together. However when they find out that Scootaloo's condition is more complicated than they knew about before and Rainbow Dash receives a letter from an old "friend", things start to get hectic.

At the same time, a looming threat still remains on the horizon, one that can offer you your deepest desires, for a price.

Scootaloo finally has the loving parents she always wished for- or as close as she can get, anyways. Rainbow Dash is curious to hear more about Scootaloo's own foalhood. And after learning about the situation, Rainbow is not content to sit around and let Scootaloo's parents get away with their transgressions. Rainbow is rocking the boat, and not everyone is happy to change the status quo.

Scootaloo may have gained a big sister in the dark hours of the night, and not without thanks to a certain princess, but that doesn't mean she's having an easy time falling asleep. Rainbow Dash offers some assistance, in the form of a late-night storybook. Bridging scene that takes place after Dash and Scootaloo's nightly embrace, near the end of Sleepless in Ponyville.

She'd spend the day with them, shared stories, and shown a love she'd never experienced. And while she thought it was temporary, she didn't expect what would happen next.

After the events of Chasing Daylight Both Scootaloo and Rainbow are forced to confront the fact that their relationship might never be the same.
