My Little Scootaloo

Growing up.

[A/N] Here it is. The Grand Finale. I'm gonna try my best to give you a feels montage. Final Chapter.

Rainbow Dash stood outside of a school yard with tears in her eyes as she watched her daughter. As she watched her she thought back to when she let her little Scootaloo grow up.

It had been a rough day. The delivery Pegasi brought Scootaloos' crib and assembled it for her. Rainbow knew that their job was done but know it was time for her job which was tougher than their job.

She need to convince Scootaloo to sleep without the warmth and comfort of her mother. It was bed time and Dash had gotten the crib all made ready for her baby to sleep. The blanket was tucked back so it would be easier to tuck Scootaloo in. The monkey toy that was her favorite was there for her to hold while she slept.

Now she needed to get her to sleep without fussing. Scootaloo had figured out that night time meant bed time. Rainbow found her sitting on the bed ready to go to sleep. She was oblivious to the crib in front of her. Instead she was focused on her mother. Dash simply went over and picked up Scootaloo. The infant snuggled in her mothers hold while unaware that she wouldn't be held for the rest of the night.

Rainbow Dash put her in the crib and let her go. Scootaloo was confused. She wondered why her mother let her go and was walking away from her. Rainbow herself didn't want to do this but she had to. Her daughter couldn't grow believing that she had to share her bed with her mother. Scootaloo began to try to climb out of the crib to be with her mother but she was stopped by the one pony she wanted to be with the most.

"No." Rainbow said as she fought back tears. "Listen to me sweetie. You're gonna have to sleep on your own for a while now. Mommy needs to be alone for tonight and you have to learn to sleep in your own if you want to be big and strong when you get older."

Scootaloo knew what a few of those words meant. She began to cry as her mother turned off the lights and climbed in to her bed alone

Even after an hour, Scootaloo hadn't stopped crying. Rainbow figured out by now that her baby thought that she didn't want her anymore. She got up and picked up her crying daughter.

"Shh. It's okay. I'm not leaving you."

"Mommy."

"I will always be your mother. I'm not leaving you."

Scootaloo seemed to realize that her mother wasn't at all trying to get rid of her. She wanted to hear if mommy still wanted to her to be with her. She closed her eyes after she stopped crying and fell asleep in Dash's hooves.

It was two years later. Now Scootaloo had her own room and was sleeping like a big girl (foal) and only when she was sick, sleep by her mothers side.

It was a quiet night. Rainbow Dash was sound asleep, dreaming of her flying with the wonderbolts. She stirred awake as she heard something in her room.

"Soarin?" She said groggily. Thats when she looked down and saw Scootaloo curled up by her bed side, shaking and crying.

"Hey what's wrong."

"I had a nightmare. I was being taken away and they wouldn't let me see you again and you didn't care if they took me or not." Scootaloo sobbed in to her hooves as Rainbow picked her up in her hooves and held her daughter. She wasn't a baby anymore. She was gonna start school in a soon at the age of 4. Scootaloo wrapped her hooves around her mother and cried into her chest.

"Mommy, you wouldn't let them do that would you?"

"I would never."

"Good. Cause I don't know what I would do without you?" she sobbed harder into her moms chest.

"Here." Dash said scooting over. "Sleep by me tonight."

Scootaloo got in her spot almost instantly and began to hold her mother. Rainbow Dash held her and whispered in her ear. " And if those people come back in your dreams? Wake up and I'll be here to protect you."

Rainbow Dash knew it was time. The time to tell Scootaloo the truth about her real mother. After four years of raising her, she knew that her daughter had to find out about how she found her.

"Scootaloo." she called as she saw her daughter walking towards the living room.

"Yeah mom?"

"Sit down. I need to tell you something."

"Did I do something bad?"

"No but I have to tell you this now or else you may think differently of me if I tell you later."

She took a deep breath and looked her daughter in the eyes.

"You're adopted."

Scootaloos' jaw dropped at those words. Rainbow began to cry at Scootaloos' shocked expression.

"But listen to me. When I found you in a back alley in a box. Your mother wanted somepony to take care of you. I took you without a clue in the world to make sure you wouldn't freeze to death on that night." She stopped to take a breath. "If your mad at me for whatever reason then I don't blame you."

Scootaloo had tears on her cheeks by the time Dash finished talking. Instead of doing what her mother thought she would do, she ran up to her mother and hugged her like her life depended on it.

"I...I thought you would be mad."

Scootaloo looked up at her and said, "Why would I be mad? The fact that you raised me as if I was one of your own even if you just found me makes me even more happier that you did it to make sure I was safe."

Rainbow Dash hugged her back, "I will never stop loving you."

"I won't either."

Rainbow Dash had tears in her eyes. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't notice her daughter running back to her."

"Mom are you alright?"

"I'm fine Scootaloo."

"Why are you crying?"

"I'm happy. I'm so happy for you." She hugged her daughter as the school bell rang.

"Be good sweetie." She said as she kissed her forehead.

"Bye mom. Love you."

Rainbow Dash watched her daughter enter the school. She was happy for her. After five years of raising her, she had grown up. Rainbow knew that it wasn't over. It was a new chapter for her and her daughter. Dash heard hoof steps behind her.

"Ya' did great Rainbow." Applejack said as she put a hoof around Dash.

"Thanks Applejack." She said as she flew off.

Meanwhile from a distance, a weak mare with a yellow body and a purple mane watched the rainbow colored maned Pegasus fly away into the sky.

"If what I saw was what I think it was. Thank you."
