After being told that she will die, Rarity finds a way to help all of her friends before leaving. Spike tries to find a way to deal with himself upon her going.

I rewatched Season 4 this week, and after Inspiration Manifestation, my personal ban on writing fanfiction disintegrated and this oneshot somehow happened. Consider this a brief look into Rarity's state of mind after this episode's main events. No shipping goggles required, though you're welcome to bring them along if you wish.

When Coco Pommel is summoned to Ponyville, she encounters the last thing she thought she'd ever see: a Rarity who has completely lost the passion for her profession.

Moved by Rarity's plight, Coco will do everything she can to bring the sparkle back to her friend. But will she, an almost complete outsider to Rarity's life, be enough?

All Sweetie Belle wanted was one pony to show up to her audition. Just one. And what with everypony else so busy, she was thrilled to know that Rarity would be there for her...

...but she didn't show. It was an empty theater.

Rarity normally sees Hearth's Warming Eve as a pretty simple holiday. Eat cookies, put up with family, make Sweetie Belle a nice dress. But when all of Sweetie's other presents turn out to be clothes, Rarity can't bear the disappointment in her sister's cute little eyes. After finding an old Dress Me Daisy doll in her childhood bedroom, Rarity decides to make the doll into a perfect present.

Based on the scene at the very end of "The Last Roundup": Pinkie Pie and Rarity are left stranded in the Badlands, their long and agonizing journey home requiring them to spend a night alone in the desert. It is here that the latter discovers a painful secret hidden beneath her friend's constant cheerful demeanor.

Despite not being the one famous for bringing a smile to everypony's face wherever she goes, the exhausted (and most unacceptably filthy) fashionista does everything in her power to make her happy again...
