With Twilight now on the throne as Ruler of Equestria, the royal sisters have retired to the small island community of Silver Shoals. However, their long awaited retirement isn't going quite as smoothly as they might have hoped. It seems that when ruling a nation for over a millennia, one might not think too much about the work that goes into living a normal life.

While in class, Smolder finds a thought nagging her mind. Through support and encouragement, she eventually reveals her love for dresses and all things cute and girly still exists, and her friends encourage her to ask Rarity to make her one for the upcoming school dance.

Being Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard is a tough job be it from dealing with the public or, more often than not, the boredom. In those times, one's own past and thoughts may be a greater adversary than any attempt on the Princess's life.

Gallus comes home after one such mental battle, hoping to find refuge in the one place he knows the enemy can't touch him.
