Ever the avid learner, Ocellus spends much of her free time, even when back at her home, studying as much as she can. And this devotion has made her the pride and joy of the Changeling hive, so much so that she receives an unexpected visit from none other than Thorax, her King.

When Pharynx continuously has nightmares about his old outcast issues, he comes to face two options: to open up to his brother about his issues, or to continuously let himself crack under the constant pressure, thus letting himself continue to be tormented in his sleep by his inner emotions.

Idol Hooves holds a special place in Equestria. He's probably the only exiled changeling to serve in the Royal Guard, or at least, that's what he expects, as exiles don't really broadcast that fact. However, it's well known that Princess Celestia loves all of her little ponies, and her guards perhaps more so, and that makes it one of the best ways for a changeling to discreetly feed.

But how does a changeling even get there, let alone get exiled in the first place? For that matter, why would it ever go to Canterlot? Set a number of years before the series proper, before Luna’s redemption, Idol details how he was exiled, the ponies he’s met, and the series of misadventures that led him to joining the Royal Guard, and should continue a good ways into the series, as something of an alternate perspective.

Soon, he’ll have to deal with a boisterous new princess to serve and a royal wedding in the works bringing a third to power. Will his old instincts bring this new life crashing down around him? What precipitates Chrysalis’s ill-fated assault on Canterlot? Is it really so wrong for a changeling to enjoy good craftsmanship to an obsessive degree?

When Sandbar kissed Gallus, the griffon had no idea how to respond in any way other than running and avoiding his friends so as to not have to deal with his confusing feelings. He's been skipping meals, friendship events, and even sleeping in his room, all to avoid his roommate. However, Gallus finds that he can't hide and run forever, particularly considering that it's a small school and all his friends just want him to be happy. Including, and maybe especially, Sandbar.

On a very cold winter morning before Hearth's Warming Day, Sandbar and Gallus return to the school, but take a moment to sit by the fire and have a moment (mostly) to themselves.

Tangentially related to my series of GallBar stories, but not strictly necessary to read for this one. I promise.

I didn't mean to base my story on it, but it ended up being perfect for me anyway.

It's been ten years since Sandbar graduated from the School of Friendship and he's doing well for himself. With Yona, he's made a name for himself in the fashion world by becoming the co-owner of the Ponyville branch of the Carousel Boutique only after a few years of working there.

It's been seven years since Gallus left Ponyville to enlist with the Canterlot Royal Guards, becoming the first Griffon in history to do so. At first, both were concerned about the distance, but felt that their bond could only grow stronger.

It's been five years since Gallus broke up with Sandbar.

Now, after throwing himself into his work at the Carousel Boutique for the past few years, Sandbar finds himself reminiscing on the past despite himself.

When they're bored on weekened nights, the Young Six all like to play a game of Questions and Answers with each other to lead into conversation topics. Gallus asks a question about Ocellus's changeling abilities that leads to interesting revelations about everycreature.

"Because I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and there’s not a single creature with wings I can think of who is exclusively attracted to the opposite sex.”
