At her coronation after-party, Twilight gets a little freaked out at the prospect of growing into her new life, especially one specific aspect of it. She knows better than anyone that talking her problems over with a friend can help tremendously, but she doesn't have many friends with whom she'd be comfortable talking about this particular problem, let alone ones who would really understand what she's going through.

...unless she broadens her definition of "friend."

Spike is a child and it doesn't matter how much he's yawning or how much difficult he has keeping his little balance; he is not tired and he will not sleep.

"Not without a fight," says Spike.

The Everfree forest. A dangerous place full of dangerous creatures. Home to the largest, fiercest animals in Equestria. Only the most elite soldiers and warriors dare venture here, and even then never for long.

Big Game is a stallion on a mission: to claim a trophy from each of Equestria's largest predators. He came to the Everfree forest with this goal in mind, and isn't leaving until he is finished.

Bored one evening, Discord suggests to Celestia that they spice things up by seeing who's best at doing the other's job: he'll handle keeping things harmonious, and she'll be there to throw a big ol' spoonful of chaos into the mix whenever she feels like it. To his surprise, she agrees to do it. He's certain he's got this one in the bag—after all, how hard can something as boring as harmony be?

He shouldn't have underestimated his opponent.

Starburst, the daughter of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Flash Sentry, has about all she could ask from life: loving parents, her Little Brother Best Friend Forever, and despite her seriousness and disciplined mentality, she has group of friends close as family. She also has an ambitious goal in life: she wants to be the first mare ever to become the Captain of the Royal Guard, which she's been preparing herself for since she was a little filly.

So... what would happen if she were to meet a pony that is an exact opposite of her?

This is a side-story for defender2222's Crisis of Infinite Twilights, and is written with defender2222's blessing. It will make no sense if you haven't read that story up to the start of the Ponpan arc, but the authors involved make no guarantee that doing so will make any more sense.

While Scootaloo and the God Squad sail to Ponpan to find another batch of alternate Twilights, those left behind at BUTTS headquarters (Bureau of Undoing Trouble from Twilight Sparkle) decide to play a game to pass the time, get to know each other better, and possibly get very, very drunk. Not necessarily in that order.

A thousand years ago, jealousy transformed me into a creature of darkness named Nightmare Moon, and I attempted to plunge the world into eternal night. In order to protect Equestria and her little ponies, Princess Celestia used the Elements of Harmony to banish me. This is the story as you have heard it.

The story is not entirely false. I became Nightmare Moon, I rebelled against my sister, and in the end, I was banished by the Elements of Harmony. But time has eroded the story, and much of it has been forgotten.

This is the story of Nightmare Moon as told by the only one who remembers the truth.
