On the day a comet passes overhead, Princess Twilight Sparkle decides to keep the sky dark, allowing all of Equestria to enjoy the view.

It's weird-- but a good weird! Definitely good.

Some other things are weird, too. But they might also be a good weird.

Check out the sequel, Light Show!

First place in a Quills and Sofas speedwriting contest with the theme "heartwarming" and the prompt "light up the sky". Originally written in 75 minutes, this version has seen some editing and adjustment. Special thanks to Red Parade, Emotion Nexus, and Aurora Dawn for pre-reading during the contest!

This story currently stands alone, but I may add more stories about what happened on Comet Day at a later date!

It's never easy taking care of a loved one lost to addiction, especially when the rest of the world is so quick to leave them behind. Luckily in Ponyville, there's always a light left on in case some pony has nowhere left to turn.

Written for the Feb 21 2021 Quills and Sofa Speedwrite contest, where the theme was "Psychadelics", and the prompt was "Only Option Left".

Hearts and Hooves Day in the Crystal Empire is always a special affair. After all, the love in the hearts of the crystal ponies is reflected all across Equestria. As such, it’s up to Cadance, the Princess of Love, to keep up appearances and be in public all day to greet adoring fans and tourists.

It’s not as easy as it sounds, but luckily her amazing wife Chrysalis is up to the task.

Written for the Quills and Sofas Colorful Characters - Cadance Contest with the prompts 'drowning' and 'bright pink'. Presented here with a little bit of expansion and editing.

Thanks so much to everyone in Quills who read and helped me edit, as well as the few other friends I showed the early draft too; I appreciate and love you all <3.

Marble was so excited for this Hearth’s Warming. She was finally going to do it; she was going to ask Big Mac if he had feelings for her! Sure, there was a small, tiny, gravel sized chance they might be cousins, but even if they were, it was so distant it wouldn't matter.

She had it all planned out, the mood, atmosphere, even the dress Maud helped her spruce up.

It would be perfect, it had to be perfect. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Originally written for the Quills and Sofas Psychedelic Speedwrite with the prompts - 'the love we think we deserve' and 'the only option left'. Presented here with a little bit of editing and a couple hundred words of expansion.

Content Warnings - depression, overdose (not death), technically self harm, and potential panic attack triggers.

(Also, technically contains spoilers for Best Gift Ever.)
