Despite her redemption, and strong friendship with Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer is was still feeling envy and rage. Until her friend gets everything that Sunset wanted.

After proving herself as the best Pretty Decent Assistant Detective Helper Person that the Great and Powerful Trixie could ever hope to ask for, she and Sunset Shimmer have been spending a lot of time together. The budding friendship brought on by the Memory Stone incident has well and truly blossomed beyond what either had dreamed it would, and now the next step feels obvious.

Said next step is, of course, such a Great and Powerful friendship turning into a Great and Powerful girlfriendship, and to Trixie's glee, Sunset has said yes to a first date.

As they chat together over coffee, however, Trixie finds herself confronted with something about Sunset that she'd never really given much thought before, despite everyone having known it for a while: the fact that one half of this new couple is a human stage magician, and the other is a transformed unicorn from a parallel world.

After the events of Rainbow Rocks, Sunset Shimmer sits on a park bench, wallowing about her homesickness and how she is afraid to return to Equestria and confront her past. However, her self-pity is soon disrupted as Trixie comes along, wishing to learn real magic. In the process, the two make up over their confrontation during the Battle of the Bands.

It's the autumn of the girls' senior year, two (very eventful) years since the last time Sunset Shimmer had any aspirations at becoming Princess of the Fall Formal (and three years since she actually won). But it seems the title isn't done with her yet, as Trixie, taking a shot at winning the coveted crown, has now sought out her aid -- by asking her to be her date to the dance.

And, in a move that surprised even herself, Sunset said yes.

But as the two prepare to head to the dance, Sunset can't help but wonder if Trixie, whom she'd grown to consider a genuine friend in the months since the Memory Stone crisis, had more on her mind than Sunset's clout in asking for her hand at the dance -- and whether she herself might have any such feelings as well.

Takes place senior year, two years after the events of Equestria Girls (sophomore Fall Formal), five months after Forgotten Friendship (late junior year) and in-between Sunset's Backstage Pass and Holidays Unwrapped.

After the events of Rainbow Rocks, it seems Sunset Shimmer has everything she wants in life, but even her closest friends don't notice that she's missing something she really needs.

Luckily, Vinyl Scratch, superstar DJ and amateur shipper extraordinaire realizes that Sunset needs a special someone in her life, and knows a Great and Powerful girl who would be just perfect for her.

Sunset was still having a hard time making friends at Canterlot High. It wasn't until she ran into someone that was having a worse time than her that she decided to take that first step towards friendship that eventually grew into a closer and more personal bond.

It started off with a little invitation. Trixie was to play a simple game of Poker with Sunset Shimmer. Her initial thoughts were that the two of them would be gossiping about things. Well that and trying to prove to Sunset that the Great and Powerful Trixie is a master of the art of Poker.

However, Sunset's little "Rules" are what gives this game its' spicy flair and turns an otherwise normal game of poker into a rather exciting game of cards, lipstick and kissing.

It was gonna be one heck of a night...

Note: I literally just made this the second I saw this picture. Sorry if it feels rushed out the door in certain areas. This isn't how I usually write. I just saw this picture, and wanted to do a story off of it.

In the winter when everything is supposed to be colder than usual, that’s for you to be reminded of the warm things you have lost and abandoned long ago. The thing you wish you hold just a little bit much longer, the thing you can’t even regret leaving.

But when some accident’s trick resurfaces what she had lost, could Sunset moved on from the past?

Sunset and Trixie begin the new year with goals and ambitions. Their feelings for each other are stronger than ever, and they are sure they can face anything life has to offer head on.

And now, with the help of their friends, they'll have to face a challenge bigger than any of them could have ever foreseen when they are approached by the last person they expected.
