A magician, a trickster, an empty boaster and a fraud. Trixie has been called many things in her lifetime. To Sunset though, 'The great and Powerful' Trixie 'was' something more.

In the winter when everything is supposed to be colder than usual, that’s for you to be reminded of the warm things you have lost and abandoned long ago. The thing you wish you hold just a little bit much longer, the thing you can’t even regret leaving.

But when some accident’s trick resurfaces what she had lost, could Sunset moved on from the past?

I wouldn't let you go again

One could always look through the falling snow as an inconvenience but for some, the dancing snow from the sky could reveal a beauty that had been forgotten and missed. It’s trail started from a simple dust on a grass to a white field of freezing beauty. Sunset managed to catch and hold a piece of the dancing snow. She smiled as she held it tenderly with both of her hands.

“What do you get there, Sunset?” asked Pinkie Pie as she hopped beside Sunset, “Is it a gift from the heaven for this Christmas eve? Or is it a piece of a magical star from Equestria? Which is it, Sunset?” Pinkie Pie held Sunset’s shoulder as Sunset could only giggle at her eccentric friend.

“It’s just a snow, Pinkie!” Sunset opened her arms and let the snow flew and danced with the wind once again. Sunset was only telling half the truth though, but she preferred for it to stay hidden.

Sunset showed smile that hid a certain hidden melancholy no one could notice as she caught up with her friends.

Winter had arrived at CHS and the Christmas spirit came with it as CHS was holding one of the largest charity that had ever been held in Canterlot in their field and building, and the Wonder Colts’ had brought their best gift for the event. Some were organizing a bazaar with their arts and old stuff, some others held a performance and there were even sports tournaments for the people around the city. It was really grand.

The Rainbooms had arrived quite early as they had more than one stations to take care and so little time to prepare. Fluttershy had to take care of the animal charity’s event, Applejack would stay selling her apple cider, Twilight was leading a science exhibition, Rainbow Dash had her hands full with the sports tournaments and Pinkie Pie was the leader of the whole event. As Each of them had something to do, they would go their own way before finally would be performing as the Rainbooms at the climax of the event.

Sunset herself would be the show girl for the whole event. Her job was to promote the performance and shops, becoming a helping guide, sell drinks and beverages, and just, basically, stand around looking pretty. Sunset didn’t really have anything to complain, really! Even the suit was really pretty, it was Rarity’s original. It was a long red dress with a Christmas's theme short shawl. It also came with a black stocking and a pair of dark brown Mary Jane. It was so pretty and comfy, Sunset was even considering to ask Rarity to let her kept it.

The school was full of people as soon as the gate was formally open for the visitors. Even everyone was overwhelmed, but they still smiled happily. After all, they were actually having fun. But for Sunset though, it was a good way to distract her from her own mind.

Suddenly times passed by. The noon had come, even though the cold wind still blowing through, but everyone’s spirit and smile hadn’t waver even a bit. But, it was time for the end of Sunset's shift, she was planning to look at the bazaar and shows. Maybe she could even help some of her friends.

“The Great and Powerful, Trixie will not say sorry! Trixie is clearly not at fault here!” A certain crowd caught Sunset’s interest as she could listen to a familiar sound from a familiar girl. Trixie, in her purple magician costume, was arguing with someone else, a guy from the town it seemed. A drone could be seen in pieces just between them.

“Oh... don’t try to act so mighty, miss! You are the one who knocked me and made me dropped my new drone!” the other guy crossed her hand with a furious mood, “I want a compensation and I want it now!” said the guy.

Some other men, likely his friends, appeared behind him and showed a displeased look at Trixie. Sunset wondered why no one tried to help Trixie as she could look at the scared or unconcerned face from the audience.

Trixie just snorted at the group of men as she still smiled arrogantly, “Try to overwhelmed Trixie with numbers? No matter, you, dogs, are still no match for, the great and powerful, Trixie!” Trixie exclaimed.

Sunset started to worry for her schoolmate as the men’s face turned redder, but Trixie didn’t show any weakness for her interlocutors. Trixie realized that no sane man would attack her with this many witnesses. She just crossed her arms and wait until he gives up.

But, unfortunately, she was wrong as the man raised her hand, “Why you little!!!” Trixie’s face turned cold instantly as she raised her arm to shield her face.

Why do you want to leave me?

Sunset almost fell down from the punch. The punch was quite good, but she had felt worse before. At least her lips hadn’t torn up yet. Sunset touched the bruise on her face. It was warm, almost too painful to touch, but not as painful as her chest right now.

Sunset looked sharply to the man who had just punched her, with the eyes she had abandoned once ago. “Are you happy now?” asked Sunset sharply. It sent a chill to the guy’s back. “How about we make this more fun?” Sunset took out her phone and dialed 911, “ I am sure, The police will love to hear your story! Especially with all of this witnesses around!” Sunset raised one of her eyebrows making sure he got the note.

The guy’s terrified face was almost enough of a payback for that punch, but seeing that guy ran like a scared mouse with his friends was more than enough to make Sunset smiled. Not enough to make the pain on her cheek went away, though. Sunset looked around as the crowd started to dissipate.

“Why did you save Trixie?” Sunset turned to see Trixie. She looked confused to be saved, but also a hidden relief.

Thank you, but I didn’t really need any help!

Again with the memory. The only reason Sunset jumped right to a punch straight to the jaw.

“You just looked like a girl who needs a help!” and because I was afraid you will get hurt again! “That’s all!” Sunset grinned.

“Well, Trixie didn’t really need your help back there!” Trixie crossed arms and returned to her usual cocky self, “But, since you have saved Trixie!” Trixie took Sunset and lead her through the crowd. “The Great and Powerful, Trixie, will help you get better!”

Sunset was confused by Trixie’s behavior. But She couldn’t help but smile warmly because of the warm fingers that were warping her arm. Sunset caught a snow with her free hands and yet, it was no longer cold.

Trixie opened the door to the nurse office, but unfortunately, it was empty. Trixie sighed long and hard. Of course! Nurse Redheart must go away at the same time as the time she has to take care of Sunset! Trixie sighed once again as she turned to look at Sunset. The bruise on Sunset face was actually quite bad, no matter how ‘okay’ Sunset said she felt.

“Come on!” Trixie gestured to ask Sunset to sit on one of the beds available. After Sunset sat down, Trixie proceeded to take some medicine and ice from the nurse’s cabinet.

“Are you sure it’s okay for you to take that medicine?” Asked Sunset bluntly.

“Of course, It was okay for The Great and Powerful Trixie to tend the wounds of one of her friend!” exclaimed Trixie as she filled a plastic with some ice.

“Oh.... so, we are friends now?” asked Sunset teasingly, “If I remembered correctly, didn’t you almost trap us below a stage just a couple months ago?”

Trixie knows and Trixie was sorry! “Of course! You could just be Trixie’s fangirl if you want to!” giggled Trixie as she sat down beside Sunset. “Here let me!” Trixie tried to tent Sunset’s wound. Sunset covered her wounds with her hands for a second before letting go. Sunset groaned as the cold of the ice break through Sunset’s skin. “There... there.... Trixie know it hurt!” Trixie blushed a little when she realized how close her face was with Sunset.

Sunset giggled, “Well, It’s not that bad!” Trixie put a little more pressure on the ice, making Sunset groaned a little more. Trixie couldn’t help but giggle at her. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”

Trixie smiled playfully, “Maybe!” They both giggled for a while until the silence took hold once more.

“Trixie?” Sunset was the first who tried to break the silence, “Do you have a lover?” Trixie laughed by the question, it was quite a surprise actually. No one has ever actually wondered that. What’s funnier was how red Sunset’s face right now.

“So.... you are developing a feeling for The Great and Powerful Trixie, aren’t you?” Trixie smiled cockily as she still tending Sunset. But, for only a second, Sunset showed a hidden sadness in her eyes, “but, unfortunately for you, Sunset! I do have a boyfriend! So, you don’t have a chance to win’s Trixie’s heart”

“Oh.... ok then! I am sorry!” Sunset eyes looked to the ground, no longer brave enough to look directly at Trixie.

Just great Trixie! You just have to lie to her! And that was such a great chance, too! Trixie lowered the ice as she smiled bitterly. “That should do! Now, Trixie shall take her leave!”

Trixie was about to leave Sunset alone until Sunset grabbed her arm. Before Trixie could even be surprised, Sunset had already stood closely in front of her, arm wrapped around the waist, and breath just an inch away from Trixie. Sunset smiled seductively and eyes looked sharply at Trixie. Sunset leaned in close to Trixie’s ear as she whispered, “How The Great and Powerful want to treated this time?” Sunset looked at Trixie once again.

Trixie looked at Sunset. Trixie was blushing deeply. She was scared and confused, but she knew she wanted this to happen. The look of Sunset’s face was beautiful and enchanting. Her red fiery hair was so gorgeous and so soft she touched and stroke it softly.

“Please be gentle!” Sunset smiled seductively and nodded at Trixie’s word as she leaned in for a kiss.

“Howdy! Miss Redheart!” The door slammed open as Trixie and Sunset realized what they were doing in the last couple of minutes. They let go of each other, but it was too late as Applejack and Rainbowdash were standing in awe from what they had seen. They even had forgotten the bruise on Rainbow’s hand.

“Ah... You should be fine now!” Trixie said. She was still blushing deeply but tried to act cool in front of Applejack and Rainbow Dash, “As a way to say thank you, Trixie will give you a free ticket to watch the Great and Powerful Trixie in action!” Trixie took a piece of paper from one of her pockets and handed it over to Sunset.

“Eh... Thanks!” Sunset took it in her trembling hands. Sunset nodded to Trixie, then Trixie ran away from the room while hiding her face with her hat.

Sunset sat on one of the beds, waiting for her friends to say something.

“What was that ?” Rainbow Dash was the first to break the silence.

Sunset laughed a little to answer Rainbow’s question., “Exactly as how you looked at it!” Sunset smiled bitterly when she remembered what she just did to Trixie. Even she didn’t know what came over her. She just did it purely on instinct, on impulse, especially after she saw Trixie’s bitter smile. A smile she had seen multiple times back in Equestria and more than know how to handle.

“So... you and Trixie, huh?” Muturred Applejack, “I reckon’ you got a story for this?”

“I do, Applejack!” Sunset looked away, avoiding their gaze. She feared the next question Applejack was going to ask.

“Mind tellin’ us?”

Sunset let go a big sigh, “It’s quite a long story, actually!” Sunset closed her eyes as her mind drifted off to another winter in the past, “It all started when I meet this wonderful mare in this one party when I still lived in Equestria...”

After Sunset had finally concluded her story, the pair was left alone with their own thought. The silence took hold once again as Sunset was waiting for a response from one of them even though both of her friends had no idea what to say. Rainbow Dash gestured Applejack to handle this as she would handle her bruises alone.

“Sunset?” Applejack sat beside Sunset, her hands wrap around Sunset’s neck, “Do you love Trixie? Our Trixie?”

“That’s the problem, AJ!” Sunset broke free from Applejack’s embrace. She was confused like a lost puppy as she looked at Applejack directly to the eye, “I don’t know!” Sunset exclaimed.

"Even then, It's too late anyway! Trixie already has a boyfriend!" Sunset said before looked down at her own words, "I am too late!"

Then Rainbow Dash snorted, almost laugh, at Sunset from across the room, "You actually believe her?" Sunset looked more confused than angry, nodded slowly, which made Rainbow giggle, "It's a lie! Everyone had known that Trixie's 'boyfriend' is just a lie to look cooler to anyone else!" Applejack nodded to Rainbow's statement.

Her eyes were still confused but a little smile formed on her faces as she looked down, "But that didn't..."

Applejack raised and stood beside Sunset, she held Sunset’s shoulder as she didn’t want Sunset to escape from the truth. “Well, I reckon’ you made up your mind, Sunset!” Applejack said, “ if you don’t, you all will only get hurt in the end.” Applejack then left Sunset to tend Rainbow Dash’s wound.

Sunset then walked off to let Applejack and Rainbow Dash alone. She still had no idea, how she felt about Trixie, but it was unfair if she left her hanging like that. She feared that she couldn’t escape her own feelings anymore. Just holding Trixie in her arms, resurfaced all of the feelings for the mare all over again. It’s like falling in love once again for the same girl/mare. But they are not the same person/pony, they may have many similarities yet they had different experiences in life. Is it truly okay for Sunset to love someone else because she looked like someone she loved once ago?

Without her realization, Sunset had arrived in Trixie’s stage. The seats in front of the stage were for tickets holder as behind them was the place for audiences who watched for free. It was actually pretty empty for a magic show standard. But, it was perhaps expected because of Trixie’s reputation.

Sunset still had no idea what her decision will be but perhaps she could find it if she saw Trixie again. She needed to talk to her again to be sure about her feelings.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, young and old! Welcome!” The voice of the announcer caught many of the audience off guard, including Sunset. “Today, and today only! You are about to face the greatest magic in all of the Canterlot!” Sunset grin as she could hear Trixie’s voice as the announcer.

“We present to you!” A giant purple smoke came out from the stage and a shadowy figure could be seen behind it, “The Great and Powerful Trixie Lulamoon!” Trixie jumped through the smoke and revealed her greatness to everyone.

“Welcome to the greatest magic show in all of the Canterlot!” Trixie was speaking through a mic, “Now, let us start with a spectacular opening act, shall we?” Trixie announced.

Trixie’s show was quite amazing actually, from the opening act with her summoning doves out of their burned feather, to the traditional card tricks, a stick became a snake, disappearing act, and many other great tricks. She clearly had spent time training before as she hardly made any mistake. What’s more interesting was how she presented her self. She acted confidently like a professional magician with her way of showing how good she is with her magic and tricks. Slowly but surely, many other people started to watch the show too. All of the audience really enjoyed it, including Sunset.

When the sun had already started to set, Trixie had prepared for her grandest trick yet.

"Now for the climax of the show, Trixie will need a volunteer from the audiences!" Her assistant then proceeded to take out a bowl full white balls with a random number written on them. "Trixie will take three random number from this bowl! If the numbers I took match the numbers on your ticket, then you may come up to the stage and help the Great and Powerful Trixie to play some magic." Trixie explained before picking three balls from the bowl.

Sunset looked at her ticket before finally realized the three number on it. And it was...

“6...1...0,” Trixie said as soon as Sunset read the number on her ticket. “for someone with a ticket with the number 610, Trixie won’t wait for you to come here!”

Sunset was reluctant at first to stand up, but she was sure nothing bad would happen as she raised from her seat. “Ah... finally the volun....” Trixie was stunned, almost speechless, for second as Sunset gave her an encouraging smile, “Ehm, volunteer!”

The crowd clapped at Sunset as she waved her hand, “Thanks for the honor, Trixie!” Sunset said with a warm smile which Trixie replied with a grin.

“Dear volunteer, will you mind if Trixie asks for your name?”

“Not at all, my name is Sunset Shimer!” Sunset said with a little eagerness in her voice.

“Very well!” Trixie then gestured to one of her assistants to take out the props. They were a big black box made of pure black wood, which a single door on the front, it also has six flat holes and a 6 real blades that are small enough to fit into the holes.

“For my grand finale, the Great and Powerful, Trixie, will enter this box and Sunset, my dear, will stab me through the hole provided by the box! Then my assistant is going to burn the box, until Trixie and the box will burn to ash!”

Sunset was about to object, but she didn’t want Trixie’s show to be ruined by her, so she pulled back her objection back.

“Will the Great and Powerful, Trixie, survive this one? We shall see!” Trixie then entered the box before her assistants closed the door and gave Sunset the blades.

Sunset then reluctantly stab through all of the six holes, each scarier than the last as she could hear Trixie’s groans and screams through the mic. After she was finished, the assistant asked Sunset to move back, before the other, poured gasoline around the box. She then proceeded to light up a match then burned the whole box down.

Sunset could hear Trixie’s scream in agony and it started to terrify her. The scream was too real, too scary. Sunset tried to keep her thoughts in order, telling herself that it was just a trick. But another sudden scream obliterated that thought, making it harder to stay calm. But she must stay put as she kept clenching her fist tighter than before.

Just leave Trixie alone! Trixie has never meant anything to you anyway!

“Trixie! Get out of there!” Sunset threw herself into the fire to drew one of the swords from the box and tried to cut through one side of the box. The assistants tried to stop her but it was no avail. The sword was quite dull and the fire started to burned her hands, but Sunset almost didn’t feel any of it. All she just kept hacking the woods. When Sunset made a big enough hole, Sunset used her hands to break through the box. She could feel the wood break through her flesh, but when she forgot every bit of pain in her hands when Sunset could finally hold Trixie in her embrace.

“Oh my god, Trixie! Don’t ever do that again!” Sunset whispered as she stroke Trixie with her hand before, Trixie broke free with an angry and disappointed look at Sunset.

“Why did you do that for?” Trixie screamed while holding tears in her eyes.

Sunset took a moment to process what had happened around her before finally hear the sound booing from the audience. Apparently, Sunset took away Trixie from a secret space behind the blades and also, the audience could see a doorknob from inside the secret space that led to outside. That knowledge destroyed the illusion Trixie was creating and Sunset had ruined the show entirely.

“I... I am... sorry!”

“Save it! Trixie doesn't want to see you ever again!” Trixie ran off from the stage, leaving Sunset broke down and cry alone.

Sunset walked through the crowd. Her hand was still painful, even though it had been treated, but the cold of the snow made the pain at least bearable. The fire at the stage had been dealt with by the teachers. There wasn't a really big financial loss as the stage didn't burn completely and anyone didn't get hurt. It was all and good if Trixie didn't go missing right now.

Sunset knew she had and needed to find her, that's what she was doing for the last hours, but deep down, Sunset feared that she couldn't face Trixie.

Trixie doesn't want to see you ever again! Trixie's last words kept banging in her head, making her heart even more distraught than before. The taught of making Trixie cry had left Sunset the guilt in her heart twice as heavy as before. She needed to speak with Trixie, to share the tear she had But at the same time, she didn’t know if she could bear that guilt. She would probably just escape it like she did before.

Without her realization, her feet brought her to the entrance of the school rooftop. A place where she could think about her life. a place where she could cry without people’s consent and judgment. a place where she could just enjoy the beauty of the sunset or the magic of the starry night. A place just for her to be alone. Never would she think that someone else had taken that place.

By the time, Sunset had opened the door, it was too late as Trixie had turned around and their eyes had met. Trixie’s eyes were red and teary, and it just sunk Sunset’s heart more. She had to escape.

“Oh... Sorry, Trixie!” Sunset quickly closed the door, but suddenly it was stuck by another force.

“ Sunset, wait!” Trixie screamed as she tried to hold the door. No matter how hard she tried, Sunset just couldn’t match Trixie’s force. After a while, Sunset finally gave up and let Trixie opened the door.

Trixie had changed to a more comfortable clothes. Trixie had been waiting here because somehow, she knew Sunset would come here. It’s just like an impulse.

Standing before Sunset, Trixie knew she was holding her tears. Just by looking at her eyes, she knew how guilty and torn apart Sunset had felt. She understood why and that’s the only thought she had been having in the last few hours. The thought of her crying just making her chest became more painful than ever before. Sunset didn’t even do anything wrong, Trixie had just needed to blame someone else for her failure.

“I am sorry!” Trixie said, “to tell you the truth Trixie actually messed up! The scream wasn’t for a show, but Trixie knew it would look like that! The door was broken, and Trixie couldn’t get out like the plan!”

Trixie giggled bitterly by her own thought as her eyes ran way from Sunset’s, “If you didn’t ruin my show, Trixie wouldn’t be standing here!” Trixie then smiled bitterly, “You actually save Trixie’s life, but Trixie instead blame you for destroying Trixie’s trick!”

“But that doesn’t...” Sunset was about to object until Trixie gestured asking her to stop.

“There wasn’t any excuse that could justify Trixie’s action!” Trixie kept her head down because of guilt, “Trixie can only offer an apology!”

Trixie couldn’t really understand Sunset’s expression. It was a combination of surprise, happiness, and guilt, rolled into one at the same time, making it unidentifiable. Trixie could only hope for the best. She wished at least this could repair the fragile friendship she had with Sunset. Even though she wished she could be more to her than that, but at least this friendship must be enough for her.

“Trixie!” Sunset looked directly to Trixie, her eyes were no longer watery but full of determination.”Do you love me?”

When a girl you love, faced you with a blush and asked if she loved you, everyone’s reaction would be the same. Even the Great and Powerful Trixie was no exception to this rule.

Trixie’s mind couldn’t process what she had heard as her face showed how blank she thought. But then, a red blush started to creep in as a shock to release all of the emotion she had been holding started to explode. Then before she could even realize her own thought process, a stream of emotion was released from her face.

“Yes!” She muttered before all of her emotion could go out of control. Trixie kept trying to look away from Sunset, as looking at her right now could only make thing worse.

Sunset smiled bitterly at Trixie’s response. It was like a dream come true to her, but her own guilt and self-doubt crept in. She was afraid to accept Trixie’s feeling.

“Then, there is a story from my past that you must listen!” Sunset walked through Trixie to see the starry night.

“As you might know by now, there is a doppelganger, ‘another’ you in the place I lived before.” Sunset explained, “ There is another Twilight, another Applejack, Another Pinkie Pie, Another Rarity, and, even another...” Sunset turned around, “you!”

Trixie nodded understand. It wasn’t really hard to believe as she had seen and interact with both Twilight from both worlds. But the question still remained. What is her relationship with the other me?

“When I still lived on the other side of the mirror, I once had a mare-friend!”Trixie blinked in confusion, “It’s a way to say girlfriend there!” Trixie then nodded.

Sunset gazed the falling snow as it brought her to another place, another time, another moment.“She was very beautiful, I was even stunned by her beauty, but yet she was arrogance and cocky. Even though she was just an illusionist, she kept challenging me in magic! Never knowing when to give up!” She could feel something warm around her arms, yet it was invisible. It was just a phantom.

“Until one day, I had just enough of her challenge, and just taught her a spell or two just to make her, at least, be some kind of challenge. Even though she refused, just a few ‘demonstration’ sent her to her knee begging for an education!” Sunset smiled at the memory, “After a few lesson, I could already tell that she had potential in her. If she had chosen a different path, she could match, even, me. But, with all of that talent, I could also see insecurity and self-doubt. Her arrogance nature was just a cover for her own weakness. Maybe that’s what drew me in, what made me confessed my feeling to her. She was reminding me of myself.”

The phantom moved closer to Sunset’s heart, and Sunset smiled by how warm it was, “Our time was actually fun! Really Fun! She came every day to either help my study, learned from me, or just wanted to talk. She also loved to force me to be her assistant for her show. Even though I complained about it, we both knew that our time together was something we treasured very much.”

Then, the phantom turned cold. Colder than even the snow, “But as time moved, as the anger for my teacher grew each day, I started to think that my mare-friend was just a liability. Our time started to feel drag out, and her request had become a chore. Eventually, I have forgotten why I loved her!” Sunset closed her teary eyes as the phantom started to reach her heart with its chilling touch, “So, I set up a plan, a way for getting rid of her without any unnecessary drama.”

“We were attending a party in a winter such as this in the city where we first met. I expected for it to be boring as I rather spent the time to study some more spell, but she kept insisting for me to join her for a performance. I agreed to help her one last time as a final word before we went our separate way. But, something went wrong!” Sunset could feel her regret turned to tear as she remembered just the extent of her own cruelty, “A trick went wrong and the whole show was ruined because of it! She was crying all the way to her wagon and I had no idea what to do but to just sit there and listen to her crying right beside me! Just like that, I was reminded of why I loved deeply in the past. A part of me that I have abandoned even before I met my teacher. A part of me I hate, but yet I missed dearly! I held her tightly and let her shed her tears in my embrace!”

“As she fell a sleep in my embrace when I wanted to act my plan, a voice from my head tried to stop me. Dear Celestia, It was begging for her to stop. To give their relationship one more chance. To don’t let her anger destroy something she held dearly. But I didn’t listen to it. I erased her memory of me and our relationship, then I left her alone in her wagon. Until this day, I had never met her again!” The phantom finally disappeared, leaving Sunset with a chilling death inside of her.

“You see, Trixie?” Sunset asked while her tears fell and become what with the snow, “all the things I did for you, I fear, wasn’t because I love you! It’s because I loved the other you!”

Trixie was speechless at Sunset story. She had no idea what to say, what to do, what to even feel. Her own hearts had been jumbled by Sunset’s confession. She could just stand there motionless as Sunset walked past her, as Sunset left her alone on the rooftop.

Trixie started to question herself. why did she love Sunset? She never actually now when she loved Sunset. It just so sudden and so out of nowhere, she just held that feeling like it was a gift. When she first met Sunset, she actually really hated her. She took away all of the spotlights. She took away her only two goons. She even took away her only pair of goons. She overtook Trixie’s place. Even after the fall formal’s incident, after Sunset had changed for the better, Trixie still hate her.

But after then, after Sunset and her friends defeated the dazzling, something changed in her heart. Something that drew Trixie to open her heart for Sunset. Sunset had obtained something Trixie had been searching all this time. A cure for her own insecurity and it was a heart that could accept her.Trixie had found someone who could accept her for who she was. Not for her outer arrogance, but for the little afraid girl she actually was. That’s why she loved her. And she wouldn’t let a simple regret broke a love story twice. She needed to see Sunset again

“...And for the grand finale, we will like to present,” Trixie turned around to face the stage, “The Rainbooms!”

And now, she knew where to go.

“I am sorry guys! I don’t think I could play the guitar!” Sunset showed her friends her bandaged arms which received a shock from the rest of their friend.

“Oh my god! What happened Sunset?” Fluttershy asked as she caressed Sunset’s hand gently, “Not just your hand, but your cheeks are also had big bruises on them!”

“It’s...”Sunset’s turned grim, making Fluttershy more worry than before, “It’s a long story!”

“Rainbooms, you have 2 more minutes!” The announcer told the Rainbooms as they then walked out, while still looked worried about Sunset hand, except for Sunset and Applejack.

Applejack stood beside Sunset just before the door, “Did you tell her already?” Sunset nodded. Just by the look at Sunset’s eye since coming here, she knew what kind of decision Sunset would make.

“I am mighty proud of you!” Applejack patted Sunset slowly as they walked to the stage.

“And now for the main finale! We present to you, the Rainbooms!” Pinkie then gave a signal before Rainbow Dash started to play the music.

“Wait!” a voice could be heard on the stage, it wasn’t the singer or a staff member. A girl with a short breath and had been standing on the stage without anyone realizing. A girl who was able to silence everyone with just her mere presence.

“Sunset!” the girl then threw herself to Sunset. It was so sudden that Sunset almost fell down.

“Trixie? What are..”

“Trixie didn’t care if you still loved the other me. Trixie wouldn’t care even she was just going to be a consolation prize. Trixie would still stand by your side. Trixie would make you forget about the other mare no matter what it takes. Because no matter what...” Even after practically forcing her way through a stage back entrance, it was still easier to just say...”I love you, Sunset!”

Sunset was taken aback by this. She thought that Trixie had left Sunset after she had learned about Sunset’s story. She thought that Trixie wouldn’t wasn't to spend time with her anymore. She thought that Trixie would eventually forget about her feeling for her.

She was proven wrong by the blushing face Trixie was making when could already feel each other’s breath. It was sweet and intoxicating. Sunset couldn’t take it anymore as she leaned and kissed Trixie passionately. It was like kissing the same girl twice, but Sunset then realized that the feeling was off, different. It tasted the same, but the warmth and the passion were all different.

Yet it was still enchanting. A moment when their heartbeats synchronized with each other. It was a moment where everything in the world had suddenly become meaningless other than the girl in their arms. A moment where you didn’t care if seconds had suddenly turned to hours in your own world. A moment where you could share you exploding emotion to the one you care about. A moment where everything just became perfect.

Slowly they broke the kiss for some needed breath.

After the kiss, Sunset had finally understood her own feelings. She realized that she could no longer compare Trixie from both worlds. This Trixie was different from the one she had loved before. But her guilt was preventing her to see her own feeling.

I actually loved her too

“How was that?” Trixie's eyes were full of uncertainty, but Sunset replied with an encouraging and warm look.

“It was perfect!” Sunset leaned and let her nose touched Trixie’s, “I might even actually loved you now!”

Another stream of emotion came out in form of Trixie’s blushing face.

Then suddenly they heard claps and cheered from all around them, even the Rainbooms gave Sunset an encouraging and warm smile to them both.

“We kinda forgot about them, didn’t we?” Sunset asked.

Trixie looked confused for a second before coming with a replied, “Oh no! The Great and Powerful, Trixie just wants to let everyone know that she had taken the best girl in the world!” Sunset just smiled at her new girlfriends.

The image of her guilt to the other Trixie, an image of what could have been, slowly melted away. In its place was a new image, a photo of the two of them together in front of the falling snow.

The falling snow was no longer a symbol for mistakes, but it was now a symbol of a new beginning. To some place, where Sunset could finally smile happily with Trixie in her arms. A place she had always wanted to be.
