Sunset Shimmer invites Fluttershy over to her place in order to study together for their test tomorrow. Everything is going great, until Sunset catches Fluttershy off guard with a random question about crushes.

Was this just a study date? Or did Sunset have something more... personal in mind?

Fluttershy has decided not to go to Prom. How can she when she can't work up the courage to ask the one person she wants to go with more than anything? It's better to just cut her losses and avoid the disappointment and sadness that comes with rejection.

But a talk with Rarity convinces her to give the night a try at least. Maybe it will go better than she expects?

For the former apprentice of Princess Celestia, science experiments are fun and enlightening. Then, one day, magical butterflies start haunting Sunset Shimmer from every corner, even hours after the experiment is long done. Now it's time to panic.

When Applejack needs an extra hand around the farm during harvest season, Sunset Shimmer is the only one of the girls who has time to help.

During the long hours of work and play, they grow closer, learn more about each other, and discover what family means to each of them.

Two years ago when Fluttershy was a sophomore, she spent a fretful month as a teen fashion model. Her burgeoning career was sadly cut short by the relentless bullying of Sunset Shimmer.

When Fluttershy is once again offered an opportunity to rejoin the industry, Sunset sees a chance to make amends.

Fluttershy and Sunset's friends think its high time the meeker girl stops feeding on her girlfriend so much.

Sunset Shimmer and Fluttershy have long since buried the hatchet on the way Sunset Shimmer had treated her before Twilight showed her the way. Now friends, attending the same college, they are both snowed in over the holidays.

Though she holds no resentment any longer, Fluttershy does question Sunset Shimmer's motives for her high-school torture. How will Sunset Shimmer answer her questions, and how will their bond develop after Fluttershy learns of the true reasons for Sunset's resentment towards her in high-school?

Tragedy shatters Sunset's world. Laced with guilt over what happened, she cuts herself off from her friends. A month almost passes by before she forces herself to leave her apartment in a halfhearted attempt at regaining some normalcy from the broken shards of her life. However, recovery isn't an easy process, and with each day that passes, her pain only intensifies. But as long as she puts on a smile and tells people what they want to hear, it doesn't matter whether or not she gets better. So long as no one else suffers because of her, that's all that's important, right?

Months later, Sunset is in therapy and making strides to reclaim some of her old life. However, there’s still a shadow that swirls in her heart, a shadow that she believes can only be lifted by visiting Twilight’s grave.
