When Twilight arrives Sunset's door the day before her Christmas Party, the girls think it’s going to be a fun-filled evening of laughter and joy. The same can’t be said of the awkward, newly-reformed Starlight. But Sunset has an idea. An idea that might help them both overcome their past mistakes.

Sunset could have been so much more and she knows it. But that fact hurts her far more than she thought it did, leading her to lash out.

Hearth's Warming is here again, just a few months after Twilight's coronation!

During these few months, Twilight has been overworking herself and has almost no time to spend with her friends outside of their monthly meetings.

Starlight wants to surprise Twilight on Hearth's Warming but needs something fresh, and thus she enlists Sunset Shimmer's help, to ask her how they celebrate Hearth's Warming on the other side. Sunset agrees to help, and they work together to make the perfect Hearth's Warming for Twilight.

"Hey, it's Starlight. Meet me at your portal in an hour. I'm coming over."

Sunset Shimmer was enjoying a completely ordinary day when those words appeared in her journal.

Whether or not it will stay ordinary... well, they'll have to play that one by ear.

Although an unlikely pair to their friends, Gilda Grimfeather and Sunset Shimmer have been dating for almost a year. Both brash, confident, and straightforward souls, Gilda and Sunset stuck fast to one another not long after the Fall Formal. Now with much of summer having passed and the August heat beating down on them, Gilda finally convinced Sunset to move out of her little makeshift home in the third story office of an abandoned warehouse and into Gilda's flat with her in the Ponyville Commons before the onset of another brutal Canterlot winter in the unheated office she lived in.

But dating, even long term, is a very different beast from living together, and the prospect has tempers running a little high for both of the girls. Bad habits and little resentments alike flare as they do their level best to get Sunset's home cleared out.

Strongly influenced by the story Featherfall, as well as my deep love of hilariously out of place crackships, this is my submission for Oroboro's Sunset Shipping Contest. Show some love for my best girls, Sunset and Gilda.

For a year now Twilight has watched as her good friends Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer enjoyed a loving, tender romantic relationship. But when Starlight comes home one day cursing her girlfriend and declaring their relationship has ended, Twilight must rise to the occasion and try to help these two move past their disagreements and mend fences before their love is lost to the ages.

But perhaps some wounds are too great to be healed with kind works and civil discussions.
