Gina was a beautiful, young griffiness known for her shy demeanour. Few ponies knew much beyond this short of her best friend, the princesses, and the Royal Guard unit that freed her.

Born into a life of slavery, Gina grew up as the personal pet of her master. Now, an adult, she tries not to remember her harrowing childhood, even claiming to others that she doesn’t remember.

However, Fire Wing, her best and only friend, and son of the solder that found her, could see through that. He heard the pained, frightful moanings of her nightmares. It tore him up inside to see her suffering and so, after much effort on his part, he finally convinced her to speak to a therapist about her awful youth.

Today was a shaping up to be a bad day, Apple Bloom had been running for her life in the Everfree forest. Now she didn't even know if she was even in the same forest anymore. She had never before seen trees so tall, and never before had she met something so strange.

Something overflowing with old and powerful magic.

Deciding to find a wife, King Sombra arrives in Ponyville and finds the perfect mare: Twilight Sparkle. But how in Tartarus' name is he supposed to win her heart? Charlie Daniels, help him out!

This was inspired by an apparent cut scene from the episode “Slice of Life,” where King Sombra would’ve gotten into a musical duel with Octavia Melody a la The Devil Went Down To Georgia. So, I just ran with that idea and rewrote the lyrics to make it a Twibra story. Enjoy!

After you've tried to celebrate it enough times, a holiday might start to feel like nothing more than a group of traditions which all chose the same day to kick you. The bulk of Equestria may see the palace's annual gift-receiving ceremony as their chance to show how much they love their Solar princess, but Celestia mostly perceives it as something she has to get through without dying or actively longing for death. She's usually 50% successful, and most ceremonies end with her convinced it was the wrong half.

But maybe this year will be different.

One of them has to be.
