Sweetie Belle is having a hard time coming to terms with telling her best friend and fellow Crusader Scootaloo that she likes her... as more than a friend, that is.

Following her directorial debut, Cheerilee sees fit to give Sweetie Belle the reigns in directing the next school play - which just happens to be "Harmony's Flowers", a romantic tale about the relationship between star-crossed lovers, a unicorn and a pegasus during the tumultuous period surrounding the passing of a law allowing marriages between the recently unified races of ponies.

With her feelings growing stronger, Sweetie Belle aims to use the play as a vehicle for telling Scootaloo her true feelings - what could possibly go wrong?

So I once told a pre-reader of mine that I didn't write ship fics. Ooops.

This story was blatantly inspired by The plays the thing, but it's okay because the author of that fic HMXTaylorLee graciously agreed to pre-read and edit this for me anyway, so go check that out. Also thanks to Alovelylittlecomplex for (again?!) fixing my comma issues.

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle are on the cusp of graduating. It's the night of their last dance, when everypony else plans to lose their virginity.

But Sweetie's not so sure she wants to do that.

It's hard when you're alone. It's harder when you're alone and constantly picked on. Scootaloo's lost all faith in ponykind. A dark and troubled past drives her to the most extreme of measures.

The first fanfic I've felt confident enough to submit. I would appreciate if you could point out any spelling or grammatical mistakes. There may be a few (I often write late at night), but hopefully not many. If you do plan to leave criticism, the constructive kind is appreciated. If you don't like this kind of story, don't comment. When Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo travel to Manehattan on a one day trip together, the time and place for everything could come to light.
