This story is a sequel to The True Origin of the Cutie Mark Crusaders

A strange creature has wandered into town and ends up on Applejack's farm. AJ is not pleased but so many unanswered questions about him cause her to be curious. The dragon seems to have no family but the residents of Ponyville soon discover a link between the creature and the towns librarian.

North of bountiful Equestria and beyond the Crystal Empire lies an icy land of cryptic mystery. Its inner reaches have never been explored, but a Canterlot University expedition is set to change this. The plan is simple: penetrate the unknown depths of the Uncharted North and discover its most hidden secrets.

It's a noble undertaking, but a dark cloud looms on the horizon. Princess Luna's dreams have revealed a great but shadowy threat. To minimise the danger, Princess Celestia requests that her most loyal student, Twilight Sparkle, join the expedition and keep everypony safe. With the aid of her number one assistant, Spike, and mailmare Derpy Hooves, Twilight will attempt to do exactly that.

Perhaps it is better they don't recall the great evils they are capable of; the bloodshed and turmoil of generations past; the unspeakable acts of brutality of their ancestors; the calamities they wrought which almost doomed Equestria to eternal chaos.

For the history of Equestria is indeed far darker than any pony could possibly imagine; fraught with tales of savage violence and inconceivable atrocities, albeit with several crucial moments of heroism and benevolence through which Equestria has been narrowly spared from utter ruin

Although this story has almost entirely faded from the collective knowledge of Equestrians, there is one book left which offers its true, unmodified tale.

One book which may unlock the secrets of Equestria's history to all of its citizens.

One book which reveals all from the very moment of creation.

Mending Heart is persuaded to go to the very new amusement park that just opened. With the Crusaders tagging along, he will have the experience to last him a life time. But there is something sinister happening in the shadows and it has something to do with the park's two owners.
