Granny Smith lives out her twilight years happily with her family every day.

However a certain pony dressed in a black suit has come to tell her it is time to move on in the world and Granny isn't about to let him take her away.

Author's Note: Totally posting this in parts because I'm lazy and I want views instead of taking forever to get to my other projects while working on this. I'm saying that outright. When the story is complete and I get an editor for it I'll post a full extended cut for all who would rather read it that way.

After another failed attempt to get Rarity to notice him, Spike is left with no other choice but to call in a favor from one of his old friends Wishful Thinking and wish himself a way to her heart. Unfortunately, Wishful's magic has a price, usually on Wishful himself.

Can Spike deal with what his wish has caused to happen to his friend? Can Wishful Thinking even survive two days without a mare trying to beat the snot out of him? Read on and find out.

How is it going? My name is Wishful Thinking, and I wanna be a famous actor. Something only slightly hampered by the fact I'm an ex-con who broke his parole in the Griffin Kingdom, but what are ya gonna do?

Well for starters while eluding the ever lovely Gale I somehow ended up on a trip to this small town called Ponyville along with this purple unicorn that seems to be too busy to stop and let me off. Not that I'm complaining.

I guess I can at least stay here for the summer sun celebration. I mean, what's the worst that's gonna happen?

If this story continues I will swap the Adventure Tag for Slice of Life.

Also the image is pretty much static because I have no pic with Wishful nor do I want one unless I get serious about this.

Also if this is done I do plan on a entire Sparity thing since it was what Backfire was originally about.

Yeah so I'm Scootaloo. Everypony knows me, one of the Cutie Mark Crusaders? Kinda silly keeping that title. We've all found our marks now and have settled into what I guess adult life is suppose to be. I've learned how to fly for the most part and I've got a good job though it means dealing with the family of my least favorite mare in town. And Rainbow Dash still hangs out with me doing the big sister thing when she has the time. I've achieved pretty much everything I dreamed of as a filly... so why do I feel so discontent?

Martin Swallowtail has not been making decisions in his best interest. Not that he lacks a moral compass or common sense, he's just too kind and generous (and callow?) for his own good. But now he has a little filly to raise and her estranged mother whom is in no hurry to move out on her own. What's a stallion to do? Shall he suffer quietly wallowing in his own insecure delusions or truly live the life he wants for his daughter and himself? What will it take for him to find his voice and use it to his advantage?

For fellow Scootaloo fans I'll warn you that this is the story of her dad, not that she isn't a major character or lacking in agency and autonomy. This story focuses mostly on her dad and the environment that shaped her development.

Sure, high school is lame and becoming a freshman was a lot to take in but it’s like I rule this place now. I’m a shoe-in for the Fall Formal crown. I’ll look so good with my boyfriend at my side. The years have passed and I have performed faithful service to you as had been the case with your great mentor. Few ponies know of Celestia's actions that morning. I assume that you, princess, thought she was subdued by her sister in line with public opinion on the matter. I am one of the few attending her that morning and now I feel it can be told.
