Yeah so I'm Scootaloo. Everypony knows me, one of the Cutie Mark Crusaders? Kinda silly keeping that title. We've all found our marks now and have settled into what I guess adult life is suppose to be. I've learned how to fly for the most part and I've got a good job though it means dealing with the family of my least favorite mare in town. And Rainbow Dash still hangs out with me doing the big sister thing when she has the time. I've achieved pretty much everything I dreamed of as a filly... so why do I feel so discontent?

Ha, this was great but a highlight for me was Scoots playing "Dad Music", since I totally get being subconsciously influenced by the music your parents made you listen to growing up.

Some of Scoots' dialogue felt kinda too formal for me but maybe that's only to show that she's grown up a little. There were some typos like 'art' for 'are' and one sentence where it seemed like it had been split into two but one was just a fragment.

4218665 Yeah, the more I think about it the more I realize how abrupt is the tonal shift. I took a slice of life story and tossed in monsters. It's my "Somepony to Watch Over Me." Once I get done with the entire story I'll see if it fits and excise it if need be. It only kind of ties into earlier chapters.

4218922 Nope. I skipped ahead to the next day so this all is really happening. She was explaining the dream in chapter one. Apple Bloom mentions they are going on "your little safari" ealier in chapter eight. In fact, she mentioned to Martin that she always wanted to find the statues she thought she saw in the Everfree back in The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Scootadad back when they had a conversation on the roof.

5846747 It's got some aspects there but I wouldn't really call it a romance story. Dating and trust is just one thing she's dealing with while coming to terms with adolescence.
