Progress is Going Slow · 5:11pm Aug 11th, 2016
Geh, my mind is super dead these past few weeks. I don't know why. I started reading again (original stories from my library) to try and get my juices flowing. It's helped a bit but I can't really get that drive.
Do you guys know of any good HiEs that can put me in the mood?
I've already read the "No I'm not a Brony" and "My Best Friend, Luna."
So you don't need to send those at me, anything else would be neat. Stories that maybe similar as well would be a big help because then it'll help drive my gears. A sort of: "Oh I like that idea, what if I take it and try it like this though." kinda a thing, INSPIRATION! Ahha! That's the word I was looking for, yeah stories that could possibly help inspire me would be great.
On an unrelated note (you can stop reading here if you're not interested.) I wrote a mature story called: Cursed Dead, you can find it in my story section on my page, it's pretty new and I would greatly appreciate it if some of you checked it out.
Try Bad Mondays it is quite long (over 60 chapters all over 2k words), well written, and it is still being updated (kind of) frequently.
you canlook through my folders there is some good stuff and they are public for everone to look into them

beat me to it.
Arrow 19.
The Dresden Fillies: Strange Friends and two sequels.
Diaries of a madman.
The story of a man learning fuck this shit, fuck you, fuck your family, fuck your pets, and fuck your favorite vegetable, if you happen to have one.
It's also ~1.8 million words long.
The lost element, by Humanity.
As your editor, it is my duty to recommend the HiE that is both my favorite and got me into fanfiction. Your Human and You, a truly magnificent fic.
Although not full HiE I would recommend All American Girl, Unity, or stories by Onomonopia, and Tatsurou. The two authors do fantastic work and put out chapters regularly.
Highly recommend Through the Well of Pirene. https://www.fimfiction.net/story/73404/through-the-well-of-pirene
I offer this story. Technicalities
Exchange by getmeouttahere, my favourite story. Also Diaries of a Madman, it's very long at around 1.8 million words I believe and it also features some quite disturbing scenes and themes but it is very good.
I gotta second a number of these. Diaries of a Madman is long as fuck, but it's quite the epic. Your Human and You (the original) is a great AU spin on the HiE genre. Through the Well of Pirene is one of them love'em or hate'em stories because on of the two focal characters is very much the antagonist sort from the very start. Finally, Arrow 18 Mission Logs: Lone Ranger makes a pretty good attempt at a first contact scenario.
Poniocracy.
It's a story about a human who gets cryogenically frozen and wakes up thousands of years later to find that Earth has become a land of magical ponies.
Sounds familiar? (There are plenty of differences too, but at least the setup has clear similarities).
Project: Sunflower, Project Sunflower: Harmony, anything in the Madverse, Seven Days in Sunny June 1 through 4 (and side stories), and All American Girl.
My favorite HiE stories:
Through the Well of Pirene
Project: Sunflower and sequel Project Sunflower: Harmony, plus a couple side stories.
Celestia Sleeps In (PoE) and sequel Onto the Pony Planet (HiE)
Second Chances, Many Changes
Destinies (Both PoE and HiE)
A Voice Among the Strangers
The Unity Pact and sequels
Misunderstandings
Banished
The Sun & the Rose
ATRICLE 2
Feathered Heart
Protocol D
And some PoE stories for good measure:
Twilight's World
Stardust and sequels (HiE in sequels)
Silver Glow's Journal
The Chaotic Touch of Harmony and sequels
The Pony Who Lived Upstairs
A New Sun
Ponyville, USA
And there’s Anthropology, which is sort of both HiE and PoE.
And finally, Five Score, Divided by Four and all the related fics it spawned, which can be found in this group.
This list ended up being way longer than I thought it was going to be.

Great story, but a bitch to read through, seeing as it has nearly 2 million words.
Reposted here, as I accidentally posted it on the story itself. Some people on this site are manchildren, but luckily the author is not so unruly to deal with. Thank you for the reminder.
