McPoodle

A cartoon dog in a cartoon world

T
Source

In the forty-third year of her reign, Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship and of Equestria, and her friends faced off against a rogue draconequus who had stumbled upon Equestria and who threatened the life and sanity of every creature on the planet. After a titanic battle, she succeeded in defeating the creature…at the cost of her own life.

This is the story of what happened to her after that.

Crossover with Dot and the Kangaroo (1977), causing 90% of readers to respond “Who and the What?” and 10% of readers to respond with “MacPherson?” To the former: The character I originally created ended up so similar to this obscure character that I decided to merge them; you don’t need to have seen the source material. And to the latter: The rhythm of the title required a last name, and you can’t say for sure that Dot’s last name isn’t MacPherson.

She came from an age of Monsters, but she is the most fearsome of them all.
Her power comes not from claw or fang, but from the power of her voice.
With that voice she has sewn chaos and toppled empires.
She has met wizards, kings and conquerors, and has bested all of them.
She can never die.
She is…The Siren.

This is an alternate-universe retelling of Twilight Sparkle's journey from snarky misanthrope to sole ruler of Equestria as the Princess of Friendship, in a world of monsters and monster-hunters.

Additional character tags: Spike, Apple Bloom, Rainbow Dash, OC.

It's 2011 and Spike the toon actor is getting a little sick and tired of how he's the butt of all the jokes, both on and off the set of Friendship Is Magic.

Daffy Duck comes along and convinces Spike to get very sick and tired. So sick and tired in fact that he quits. He's off to Hollywood now, to become a big dragon toon movie star!

And meanwhile Daffy quietly plots to break back into show business. Far away from Warner Bros. Far away from that upstaging rabbit. And only Angel Bunny stands in his way...

Originally written for the Who Crossed Over My Little Pony? contest, but it's too long and it has humans in it so...no dice.

This is a crossover, mostly with Looney Tunes, but also with Animaniacs. Additional character tags: Daffy Duck, Slappy the Squirrel, and the Dodo (from the 1938 WB cartoon "Porky in Wackyland"). Additional genre tag: Metafiction.

At the end of the end of Equestria, Discord is all that's left. He's nearly given up on everything, when an errant drawing comes to life to lift his spirits.

(A crossover with the Inkwell Imps cartoon series of 1927–1929, if you can believe it. And yes, that is where I got my avatar from. And a crossover with the Star Frontiers science fiction role-playing setting from the 1980's. Funny that neither of those have series tags yet.)

This story is a sequel to On Getting to the Bottom of this "Equestrian" Business

A magical accident causes the personalities of the future Mane Six at the moment of getting their cutie marks to be swapped with those of their human counterparts during the Freshman Fair. They have only three days to figure out what’s going on and find the right individuals to help them: Princess Celestia in Equestria and the newly-arrived Sunset Shimmer on Earth. In three days the mirror portal will close, and anyone not swapped back will be trapped in the wrong dimension and body for thirty moons.

Edited by Hope.

Note #1: This story is set in the same universe as my earlier novel On Getting to the Bottom of this “Equestrian” Business. I’m using the rules I established in that story for how the Equestria Girls setting works, but nothing from the plot, and since it’s twenty-five years later, you might as well start over with the characters anyway. That’s why I think you can read this story without having to read that earlier fan-novel first. Therefore, I’ll be including author notes as necessary to catch you up on those rules.

Note #2: I use “H” for “Human” or “P” for “Pony” before a character name to refer to the mind, not the body. So “P. Rarity” is the character that starts out in a pony body, suddenly finds herself in a human body, and struggles to get back into her pony body by the end of the story.

Note #3: For the human parts of this story, I refer to the “Freshman Fair”, an event that happened in the comics. All you have to know is that it was an event held during school hours at Canterlot High when Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity were freshmen. It existed in order for the various school clubs to advertise themselves and gain new members, and it was at this event that Applejack and company all met for the first time and decided to become best friends. (Oh, and Sunset Shimmer as president of the yearbook committee later interviewed each of them about the event, gathering the facts she would later use to tear their friendships apart.)

This story is a sequel to The Mistress of Dreams

Vinyl Scratch has been caught by the Dream Trap spell and stuck in the shared dreams of Twilight Sparkle and her friends, a spell cast by the Dragon Emperor, who is manipulating those dreams in order to destroy them.

Because what happens to you in a Dream Trap spell happens to you in real life.

When she was first starting to travel through her friends’ dreams, Vinyl thought that Pinkie Pie’s would be the easiest to get through.

When the Dragon Emperor planned on how to shape each Bearer’s dream, he thought that Fluttershy’s would be the easiest to get what he wanted.

Both of them were wrong.

This is the final part of the series that began with “Javelin” and really got going with “The Perfect Little Village of Ponyville”. Created using a revolutionary new technique that allowed me to write this story in my dreams!

Co-written by Fluttershy (aka Hope) when McPoodle wasn’t looking. Shh…don’t tell him!

Look, this is the sequel to ten stories, six of which I don't think are very good, and which you probably didn't read. If you started with "Perfect Little Village" instead of "Javelin", maybe you shouldn't waste your time on this.

Starlight Glimmer has just discovered Maud Pie's first work of prose: a self-insert fix-fic, where the thing being "fixed" by the story is Starlight's own confrontation through time with Twilight Sparkle, and her subsequent reformation.

Inspired by "We Can Do This Forever" by Empirical Deduction, "Twilight Fights Starlight for Eternity" by Diamond Aura, and other stories speculating what might happen if Starlight and Twilight's fight had gone on forever.

Note: The majority of this story is fictional within the world of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The "Alternate Universe" tag therefore only applies if you imagine Maud's story as being real.

They called themselves "Markists", and they lived together in scattered towns and cities throughout America. They were distinguished from their neighbors by their colorful skin and hair colors, their doting affection for equines and equine puns in an era where the horse had almost completely disappeared from the popular imagination, and for an ability, verging on the supernatural, of always being able to find peaceful solutions to any conflict, no matter how intractable.

In the year 1985, the world's most popular living physicist and the best-known historian on network television teamed up to uncover the secrets behind this group, before the current standoff between the superpowers disintegrated into all-out atomic warfare. In the center of it all stood two women, living in two different eras, both named Celestia.

It is a little-known duty of pony princesses to explore alternate realities in search of concepts and inventions that might be beneficial for ponykind. Princess Twilight, in her first such venture, has discovered a technologically-advanced world, full of wonderful devices such as the "DVD" and the "digital watch". Enthused by her initial brief survey, she has encouraged other ponies to travel to this new world to study it and see how wonderful it can be for ponies.

Well, Princess Luna has arrived for an in-depth study, and she finds it to be a lot darker than Twilight's rosy picture suggests. A world so dark, in fact, that it might not be able to bear the possibility that Equestria and its inhabitants are real.

This story is a sequel to Secret Histories

Pinkie offers to paint a portrait of Rainbow Dash while talking about cartoons and self-confidence.

Inspired by the title illustration by katsumasa, and designed to expand on my characterization of Pinkie in "Parade Coverage" and "Secret Histories".
