Dragons are terrifying for none can hear the words inside the roars. Fluttershy, the only pony to understand them, is silent and terrified for a different reason. The girls are attacked by a foul group, but are saved by a silent, purple dragon.

Canterlot has sent a witchhunt for dragons in the surrounding area. There are knocks at the door. Fluttershy answers to find her saviour—bleeding, quiet, and on the run. Saving him means more than stopping the bleeding.

The guards are still looking. Friends harbour pains and prejudice against all of his kind. Mobs gather in fear of the unknown. And Fluttershy, deeply knowing dragons, fears them for a different reason. Yet she's the only one that will be able to understand what this kind dragon has to say.

Will she be able to save him? Will this one be different from the rest? How did Fluttershy acquire this ability? Why does Twilight regard all dragons with scorn?

The clock is ticking; the witch hunt is on.

Spike is her number-one assistant and that will never change. Even in her becoming a greater princess he has not failed in that role.

Isn't it odd how a dragon can compensate for a castle?

Twilight discovers his secret... and must save him from it.

All are condemned either to a passion or an obsession.

Spike, the now prince of all of Equestria. Handsome and Charming, and born a thousand years before he was supposed to, is now a completely different being.

Spike, during these extra thousand years, has been training in all the fields known, his long life allowing him to retrain all that there is. Although with all good things, comes a price.

We now find us to the day of when his birth was supposed to take place, Spike is now a slightly different being. All that he has learned and experienced has changed the way he acts and feels, love not being part of that scheme.

But one day, he meet's a mare by the name of Twilight Sparkle, and his life is soon flipped. As he soon get's attached to the mare, as our lucky duo are soon sent to Ponyville.

How will the story change with a new Spike? What are some of the hardships Spike had to experience in order for him to mature from a prick teen into an sightly less prick teen? Why is Spike the why he is now? And will our lucky duo succumb to the gross element known as love?

3 AM is a tough time to be awake. Thankfully for Spike and Rarity, though, they don't have to be alone as well. They write each other letters. Rambles from them both. Whatever it takes to get through the night.

Then the letters stopped.
