Doctor Perseus

I'm just a guy who loves to write.

Sequels1

E

This story is a sequel to Doctor Whooves Episode 4: Young Armor

The Doctor and Twilight have picked up a mysterious mare named Matilda who seems to know them pretty well. While they try to uncover Matilda's secrets, they find themselves in Equestria 100 years prior to the birth of Princess Celestia. Here they come across a kind and caring King Discord and his wife, Lily, who holds the key to his descent into chaos.

Windigoes? The great intelligence? Is lily chrysalis? I'm really getting into this.

Amazing as always.
Here, have a mustache:moustache:

1953407
Thanks! Here, have a Derpy. :derpytongue2:

(Joke) Alt. Title: Doctor Who Cares? Episode 5: Before The Chaos, There Was Matilda And Lily

This makes less sense than the actual doctor who. Bye.

:pinkiegasp: Just a guess, but I bet Matilda is also River Song :trollestia:

1960068 i'm with you that and we saw her at the end of the first episode when ditzy got into twilight's library

you've created a story more confusing and awesome then doctor who... the universe thanks you. :pinkiehappy: :twilightsheepish:  :trollestia:

This is bloody brilliant, it is.

Okay, well, here's my best guess at the prophecy/prediction-thingum.

The mistress and the element arrive to play; -clearly Matilda and Twilight.
the King prepares for his final day. -The fall of Discord into chaos?
The icy fiends return from the grave, -WINDIGO'S. This is windio's, right?
and the Doctor sadly will have nopony to save. -hnng. Obligatory ominous bit? I don't think I'll get the details 'til it happens.
The cost of beauty is finally paid; -again, fairly obvious, and ominous, in what it's refering to. But of course we've no idea what that cost might be!
the daughters of magic fight the raid. -Welp. I have no idea what this could possibly mean.
A friend will perform a trivial task, -Again... I don't think I'll know the details until it happens.
and Twilight Sparkle will return home at last! -Hoorah! ^^

DISCORD! :twilightangry2: I'm howling at the moon! And sleeping in the middle of a summer afternoon!

Cue Doctor Whooves theme

One thing bothers me about Matilda. She has the same name as the donkey lady in A Friend in Deed. Wait!... What if that's significant? :twilightoops:

"I can only assume that we're in the distant past and, since I remember Discord not knowing me prior to his reawakening in 1001, I figured that I better go by an alias rather than risking a paradox...dear Celestia I'm starting to sound like you now!"

The Doctor has that effect on people.

"Of course! I've read about lots of ancient Equestrians. Alastor the Enchanter is one of them."

Does he have a magical eye that spins around on it's own and sees through things? Harry Potter reference!

"I was not! I have never been putty in anyone's, or anypony's, hands, or hooves, before!"
"Really, Doctor?"
"No...well...once...well...twice...well...you know what? Let's just change the subject!"

Oh Doctor!

"Answer me with one hundred percent truth. Do you feel attracted to me?"
Twilight blushed as she said, "Yes."

:twilightsheepish: It wouldn't be Doctor Who without a bit of ho yay.

1951031 This was written way before The Snowmen.

What they found, however, was a small, golden goblet emitting a tiny blue flame.

The Goblet of Fire? Another Harry Potter reference.
The Doctor recounts the events of Father's Day. Foreshadowing. The first time I read this, I hadn't seen The Waters of Mars. Now his little reference to it makes sense to me.

"I don't think I'm anything. I know what I am! I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord. I'm from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. I'm 906 years old and I'm the one who's going to send you back to the icy hell in which you came from! You don't need to fear me. You need to fear what you're about to do. Because when I say that I'm going to stop you, I mean it. Everything that happens after this point will be on your hands-er-hooves!"

The Doctor is a badass! :rainbowdetermined2:

"Is what you told me true? Involving the fate of my husband? Will he really go on to become such a despicable creature?"
Matilda approached Lily and placed one of her hooves on the Queen's shoulder.
"It won't last forever...."

And this preceded Keep Calm and Flutter On if this indeed is suggesting something like the events of that episode will occur.
Queen Lily went all Rose Tyler on the Windigos. Wait... Lily. Rose. :pinkiegasp: And her cutie mark was a golden rose too.

"Everything fades to dust. There is no order. There is only chaos," he uttered.

And here we have the Discord we have come to know and love. :pinkiecrazy:

"Spoilers, dearie. Don't want to ruin your part of the story."
"What is it with you?" the Doctor asked. "You act a lot like-"
"River Song?"

Eeyup

"I've run into her enough times to pick up some of her habits. Well, both versions of her to be more specific."
"Both versions? What are you going on about?"

Yes, what does that even mean?
Overall second time around, it makes me wonder more about your version of Equestrian history that has Discord ruling more than a century before Celestia's birth. Still, I really enjoyed how reminiscent it was to Once Upon a Time: the origin of a villain being related to loosing their true love. (I should really finish the second season.) And Matilda is always fun because River Song is always fun, and Matilda is basically a pony version of River Song. And Twilight finds out more about the Doctor's past. :twilightblush:

The great intelligence first appeared in the second doctor episode named (Funny enough) The abominable snowmen. So it's still a possibility.

2909900 this universe's river? considering how there would be to doctors running amok, this universe's doctor, and the one who accidentally crossed over to here.

1960081 she did say sweetie, so maybe you were partially correct, river did call the doc sweetie, but maybe she is this universe's river.

2910421 agreed, now all he needs is a companion who is a yautja..I volunteer!

2910525 both versions. the version from the doc's universe, and the one from this one.

2923631 Why would there be a River Song in the MLP-verse? Then again, River Song does sound like a pony name. :twilightoops:

2923645 yup, and there woud also be a doctor here, alt universe, doc crossed over on accident, it would make sense if there was two docs running amok.

"The only mare I know who loved having the title Ms. in front of her name was my mother"

Matilda, daughter of Rarity! That's probably why Twilight recognized her hat. It was likely one of Rarity's designs. That, or I'm completely off the target and it's something else.

"I was not! I have never been putty in anyone's, or anypony's, hands, or hooves, before!"
"Really, Doctor?"
"No...well...once...well...twice...well...you know what? Let's just change the subject!"

lol yup and we all know who those two were

."The mistress and the element arrive to play; the King prepares for his final day. The icy fiends return from the grave, and the Doctor sadly will have nopony to save. The cost of beauty is finally paid; the daughters of magic fight the raid. A friend will perform a trivial task, and Twilight Sparkle will return home at last!"

2 things
I Friggin Love rhyming predictions its one of the reasons why the return of harmony episodes were my fav
2806222
also it wouldent be doctor who without a shuddering mystery

Lol BBC should've a aired a special episode when the doctor turned 1000although we don't know when his birth day is

.....plz tell me they don't steal the tardis

2910479
Lol called it (i compare every one in this story to a character from the show
Twilight =donna
Lilly its rose
Matilda is river
Derpy would be Martha in this case

2992626 Derpy isn't even in this story. :derpytongue2: And Twilight can't be Donna because Twilight is clearly in love with the Doctor, and Donna was just his best friend. Twilight would have to be Martha.

2923645
Lol i had that exact same thought like 5 chapters ago
Makes sense cuz "the only water in the forest is the river"heck even melody pond sounds kinda ponyish

1960068
