Rather than using "Alicorn/Unicorn Twilight," I would use "Twilight the Unicorn/Alicorn". Either works, I suppose.

What makes this story stand out is that it is clear that neither Twilight made an objectively 'right' choice. They both did what was right for themselves and have both been happy with those choices. That, more than anything else, means a happy ending.
This is a perfect example on how to wright a story that is both sad yet hopeful. Five star.

I agree, the author could have taken the cheap way out, but nope, it's positive on both sides. Alicorn Twi isn't depressed, and neither was Unicorn Twi.

Kinda wish Celestia and Luna were still alive in Princess Twilight's timeline, but I do like that you showed that she's not depressed. Admittedly her friends are dead now, but she still has Shining Armor and Cadence and Spike and has made many more friends since.

I've read the original comic b4, and i certainly like the outcome of this one better.
