Marking the Generations is a reimagining of the later stages of the Make your Mark series. Follow the adventures of Sunny, Hitch, Izzy, Zipp and Pipp as they make a new friend in Misty and meet two ponies from a past generation.
Twilight Sparkle has always done her best for Equestria. As her reign finally ends, she realises her final decision to safeguard Equestria will have consequences. However, let it not be said that Twilight Sparkle ever left Equestria to its own devices.
Calling on Starlight Glimmer and Sunset Shimmer. She transports them through time to assist the new generation to identify the Elements of Unity and defeat the evil she was unable to alone.
In part one of four, Misty is sent on missions to obtain items of great importance to Opaline’s plans. However, she finds herself questioning her place as Opaline’s protégé more and more. Meanwhile, Sunset and Starlight are called to the cutie map, only to find themselves abducted by it and being deposited in the future.

First time reading this through, and you’re reminding me of everything I love about G5, these characters are so nice.
It seems Misty did the right thing after all, and to add to that she got her cutie mark, too.

It’s canon that opaline is from skyros born an alicorn and was a foal at the same time as Celestia and Luna it is literally mentioned in the make your mark chapter 4 episode sunnyside up which happens before the episode where misty kidnaps sparky that’s the only mistake I see

Yeah there are some bits of canon I've chosen to adjust for this alternative universe and this is one of them. Chapter one here starts during Sunny Side Up with the intention of changing that bit of Opaline's history. I know that changing canon can be controversial though which is why this is an alternate universe fic.
The fact that Starlight and Sunset have popped up in the future is already a massive change and the story will be diverting more and more as things go forward.

This was a nice reimagining. It needs a lot of work though. Lots of words throughout are wrong because they are missing letters or the wrong letters used, examples i've are "thought" when its meant to be "through" or "hay" when it meant to be "hey".

Forgot to ask last chapter: I assume Sunny being able to teleport is another subtle divergence from canon? I don't recall he getting any quick lessons...
I can't see Hitch leaving Sparky like that (wasn't he more recovered in canon before Hitch left him with a Dragonsitter?). Also, you have Starlight declining to go to the hospital, but nothing about Misty or Sparky. I can think of in-character reasons* but it might be best to establish those explicitly in the story.

Personally I would have someone sorting through the blueprints at Canterlogic for anything actually functional... Unless those all got ceremonously piled up and burned as part of the unification.
In canon I was thinking that about 20 splattipults guarding the together tree in Maretime Bay would have actually been "worthy a shot" in addition to Hitch.
Heck, for all they know, the anti-mindreading helmets could block mental control! Like... 2% chance that is true, but worth a quick test by bringing one to one of the time travellers for a quick test!
Also AJ can sprout flowers, and has super-strength (caught a boulder many times her own volume, letalone mass). Not to mention the Pie's eating rocks, or Maud's jackhammer impression. Earth Pony magic is a thing in G4, but in G5 the plant magic is dialed WAY uo, and the physical boosts aren't In evidence.

Sunny doesn't teleport at all during that encounter. The only one's doing any teleporting are Sunset and Starlight.
I have just double checked because I got worried there was a typo or I managed to make a mistake.
I dunno about that... a power drill is dangerous without instruction, but is available at any hardware store. Dynamite requires a license. Just because the uneducated masses here could hurt themselves with a simple fire lighting spell if they, say, accidentally cast it six inches behind their horn rather than six inches in front of it and set their manes on fire doesn't mean it would be shelved next to the mind-control-y and time travel spells.
For an in universe example, look at the fact that dexterous athlete and flight geek Zipp ended up holding flying lessons for some Pegasi who hadn't been basically preparing most of their lives for the return of Pegasus magic.
I like you put enough foals at the Cutie Blossom Bash to represent a stable population rather than what the show gave us.
GrimLIGHT though: maybe the Bashs replaced individual cutieceneras when the population dips of the breaking of Harmony lead Ponies to wonder if their respective phenotype would survive.
