I suppose taking the lead in a time of uncertainty qualifies as leadership. Dash certainly barked orders that were then obeyed. Yeah, I'll say this works. (And yes, this might have worked under Courage, but this was an indisputably unorthodox method for an unorthodox land.) And hey, if me inspiring you disqualified people, then anyone who got their idea after reading the contest announcement wouldn't be able to compete.
