Interesting concept...but the sudden 4th wall break and introducing the dinos as characters so quickly feels a bit off to me. I'd say either go fully with the pony route maybe like Twilight trying to figure out where these strange large hoofprints came from, or do a fully serious piece where say Fluttershy is leading a seminar on ancient creatures.
No disrespect with my two cents.
