This is a sequel to meanwhile.... and an interquel of Paint the Sky.
STRONGLY recommend this should be skipped until you read Chapter 12 of Paint the Sky.
Years ago, when Rarity was an infant, her father, Hondo Flanks, went overseas for a year to play football. He did something else as well, something he'd hid from his family for years.
But now that secret is out, and in a way that it can't simply be swept under the rug. And Rarity, already reeling from other issues in her life, will have to face this head on, or else it might cost her everything.

Man, I don't know who to feel more sorry for: Chrisalis, who apparently pissed off her friends so much that she's probably set herself back in her redemption, or Hondo, who clearly had...well, let's just say he's the cause of all of this story's main focus.
I wonder how Rarity will react when she realizes the teenage prostitute she hates so much, the one that Sunset rescued in Germany, is nothing less than her own nearly identitical half-sister. While I would hope that she'll react well, who knows? Plus, if I remember from the older stories, Seltenhiet has some baggage of her own, the kind that typically takes "wings and horn business" to deal with. How's Rarity going to handle that? Or is that why Adagio's in the picture?
So many questions, and I want to see where the answers go.
In which chapter was Seltenheits first appearance?

...well snap. Apparently I need to finish off the entrées first. I guess I'll be back here in about six months.
...yeah, that means this story is happening at the same time. And yet this story has spoilers for events that haven't happened yet (Read: after Chapter 12) in "Paint the Sky". A minor one, beyond the former Queen `Ling surviving of course, but still notable.
Edit: Just reread the definition of interquel. Apparently that means this happenedbefore"Paint the Sky", but that would mean thatthe event the CMC "forgot"wasn't the one mentioned in the aforementioned fic. And now I am officially confused.Edit 2: Nope. Reread the description. Chapter 12 of "Paint the Sky" is required reading. Meaning that this chapter still spoils the CMC fallout from that story, which makes this a chronological sequel, with at most an overlapping end/beginning point.
...forget confused. Now I just have a headache.
Edit 3: Also, I agree with Chrysalis. A memory charm like this is like a bandage over a spear wound that goes clear through. A very short term solution to a VERY long term problem. And it only covers one side of the hole/issue to boot. Very on-brand decision making for teenagers, but if this doesn't blow up in someone's face, I'm calling hax.
Inlet diver? As in who you'd need to call to tow up one of their victims? Either way, it is clear who the Big Bad behind this story's Big Bad is going to be.
Still salty that the "answer" to the CMC/Chrysalis dilemma is apparently "Magical Amnesia". At least there is going to be some fallout from this. "Status Que is God" annoys me so...

There has to be. You can't do a status quo like this without giving something, IMO. Otherwise the story stagnates and ultimately dies.
