Shilic

Just a trans girl writing horseword stories while thinking about all the longer stories I could be writing. And then not writing them because I get easily distracted.

It's been over 8 years since the portal to Equestria closed forever, and Sunset Shimmer is doing better than ever.

A snippet I dug up from my archives, stripped of context, and posted as a tribute to lost potential.

I really enjoyed your story.

Ooh, this was neat!

This was a very good one-shot.

Gosh, I love the premise of this story! Awesome work!

Such a sweet story!:twilightblush:

Even as a standalone, this is an outstanding “The adventure continues…”-style epilogue for Equestria Girls. If you ever do choose to build on it, I’d love to see what you do with the concept. Either way, thank you for it.

The irony is, I was going to expand backwards. The road forward is... set, and for a number of reasons, cannot be posted here. The second irony is that I can post something I wrote two years ago and nobody has seemed to notice any shift in quality, which means that I haven't improved in that time. Granted, it means I started out decent, but there's a demoralizing element to that, in a weird way.

I think it says more about how I have a quality ceiling beyond which I can't discern much difference between different levels of narrative aptitude. :twilightsheepish:

Not just you, but the other people here too. Granted, it could just mean these others haven't read my more recent work, and I'm not so self deprecating as to imply that the point where I started out isn't still at a level acceptable for the standard quality of the content listed on this site.

To be fair, the people here aren't comparing it to any of your other works. They're just saying it's good and that they liked it. Unless you actually recognize any of the names who commented here today, there's no real telling whether they've ever even read any of your other stories. You don't need to look for faults within yourself. Everyone here likes what you've made, you don't need to be criticizing yourself by looking for hidden meaning in what other people say. It's perfectly okay to take what others say at face value. People like what you used to write, people like what you're currently writing - isn't that what matters?

Taking things at face value is one of those things my mental disorders make extremely difficult.

That was a sweet little story, thank you for it
