After this, I doubt Spike will "forgive" the two princesses, and keep them in power.
Because technically, it's their own damn fault for being lazy, incompetent cowards that sends out Twilight and her friends to "solve" every problem, and beat the baddies.
Of course, that dumb notion clearly backfired on them ( Along with their entire kingdom ) really, really, really badly!!!!!

Honestly... seems a bit harsh. They did stop Discord last time, and only managed it with the Elements, which Celestia made clear they couldn't use anymore at the start of Season 2. I imagine that the last time Discord was in power, they at the very least watched other people try and overthrow him in other ways, only to fail miserably and likely comically. Maybe they even tried something themselves before resorting to the Elements. Plus, Celestia DID try, by helping Twilight get her mojo back, or trying to in this case. Remember that we're dealing with a creature who could turn an entire town to jelly with a snap of his fingers.

And I went with that notion up top, to make my hypothetical ending.

Fair enough. Still, the possibility exists that, for example, Spike might meet Twilight again, and rather than a cowardly traitor begging for undeserved mercy like he probably expects, he'll see a broken pony who feels like she deserves whatever happens to her, and end up taking pity on her. Not saying he'll necessarily forgive her, just consider leaving her alone to try and fix her own life or start a new one.
Tbh I imagine the Princess's subjects will be more understanding than Spike, accepting that their rulers did all they could, but were powerless against Discord. Though, yeah, Spike will probably just tell them to leave him alone.

First of, Spike said in his speech that he didn't blame Twilight in the first place. Second, he's already the Dragon Lord so why would he bother removing Celestia and Luna from power? He may not like them anymore, but he's not gonna overthrow them. I'll have to reveal Spike's mindset a little more in the final chapter.
Damn that was quite the build-up & fight against Chaos lord, really kept you at the edge of your seat!
I do wonder what those final words to Discord meant though? Maybe Twilight meeting her doom after leaving Spike to his fate at Klugetown all those years ago? Guess we'll see on the next chapter!
