If Friendship is Magic, Imagine what Love could be!

T

This story is a sequel to Secrets & Truths

Summer seems to bring out the oddest things for the duo, Applejack, and Rainbow. Today is no different. Today, Rainbow has a few peculiar questions for her marefriend, Applejack, who recently came out to her as Asexual. These questions are very evidently focused on Applejack's asexuality and are very odd, to say the least. Nonetheless, Applejack sits through them with Rainbow whilst bucking some apple trees.

Again, mild sex is mentioned. But I'm a sex-repulsed person, so nothing even close to unbearable:scootangel:

I loved this. The dynamic between the two was on point. It reminds me so much of when my friends would question my own sexuality.

Edit: Why are people disliking this all because I am saying this? Kinda weird.

Acejack sounds more like a pun on Applejacks name, and Jackace sounds more like a pun on ummm.. a certain cuss:twilightsheepish:. Both are definitely befitting for RD to teasingly call her marefriend. And her conclusion to call Applejack "Acejackace" was cute!

Asexual mlp fic is kinda rare so this (along with it's prequel) was refreshing! Nice to see some misconceptions cleared up in this work, at least as how it applied to AJ. Also good to see both her and Dash be inclusive in regards to the community.

On that note, I'm happy to see a sequel to the former Acejack fic... of which I'm still hoping I could get a reply to the question I left under it? I promise it was asked in entirely good faith as a genderqueer individual myself.

Constructive criticism wise, perhaps look to the last line and the second to last paragraph for errors. I noticed more but those are the ones I remembered by the end. More proofreading could help.

Also maybe consider slowing down on the AJ abreviations? She was written well, but there was a few times where it seems she was shortening words a tad too heavily. And shouldn't the use of asexual, ace, and aromantic not be capitalized? I'm actually not positive on that one... Nonetheless, I hope that helps!

Disneyfanatic23 (author of Bride of Discord) wrote a story called "I Am Not Gay" which was about Rainbow Dash trying to understand why she was repulsed by sex. If I remember correctly, she received quite a bit of negative feedback. The story was very good, though.

Why are people downvoting you?

Could use an editor, but nice!

Oh. So you're one of those people.

First of all, what does that even have to do with 11274348? Gender and sexuality are two different things. Second of all, it's scientifically proven that there are multiple genders. Many cultures have used other genders other than male and female, such as the Native American "Two-Spirit." I suggest doing your research. Here's an article to start you off.

Have a great day!

"Are you Aromantic?" The mare was staring expectedly at her partner with wide beady eyes.

I'm not finished with the story but overall I'm guessing the answer is no, ask someone who is aromantic I can't find ourselves in relationships especially romance positive arrows like me

I'd love to see your evidence. One that isn't pushing the cis agenda, of course.

Honestly I get what you're saying about the community but I hate the idea that Equestria would need a community, I like to imagine that in Equestria crayonis would just be accepted as the norm, meaning that there'll be no need to create such a community in Equestria, I guess I like to see Equestria as a perfect and safe world for people like us

Thanks!
I choose to believe they’re homophobes:pinkiehappy:

Make sense. Suppose it goes against their headcanons, or their biases, who knows.
11275009
Or, folks just don’t see Aj as Ace, and the mere idea has them repulsed.
Either that or the story itself is just absolute trash

11274598
Well, she did come up with them on the spot, so they were gonna have to be really bad XD

And, yes, Ace stories aren’t really something you come across everyday, huh? Kinda sad, actually.

Right! I’ll get on that in a second!

I appreciate the critiques! Thanks!
And, yeah, I’m pretty sure they are, but autocorrect says other wise and trying to fight it ended up horribly, I’ll be honest with you. I’ll go back and see if I can spot all of them:twilightsmile:

Thanks for commenting!

I agree! I agree completely. But I do think they need a community to at least help ponies feel represented and loved. Maybe one that’s becoming less and less active as they’re becoming more and more normalized in the pony society. But think of places like Manehatten or Canterlot or maybe even the traditionalistic Appleloosa. Ponies growing up there would be told that going against the societal norm is bad and that they shouldn’t be doing "what they're doing". For those sorts of situations and places where it still isn’t normalized and ponies still get hurt and oppressed for being them, I see a reason to have the community remain a thing in their world.

But, I feel like when Twilight takes charge, all those problems would’ve been dealt with it in the best way Twilight would know now, because, well, it’s Twilight we’re talking about here.

Get what you saying but I imagine Equestria to be a world that never needed a community because queer people would just as much as the normal straight people, I had Cannon Celestia to be open arrow Ace trans woman, I don't think a society that is ruled by someone like her could develop things like homophobia transphobia that is what I meant I don't think those are things of a bin things in Equestria, it's a world devoid of biggest tree but also never had it in the first place

11275553
While I get that, I don’t completely agree. I mean, like you said, Celestia being aroace and trans are your headcanons, so they're not entirely ture. But, say for a second that she is, and that she’s banned any discriminative behaviors in her country. Frankly, I don't think that’s gonna do much. Parents can still make their child feel oppressed and alone, even if there are rules against. Bullying, any kind of bullying, is banned in a lot of places, and yet it still happens.

So, discrimination is also likely to happen. Did you see how fast the ponies of Appleloosa rejected Trouble Shoes? He was rejected and called a freak because he wasn’t given a "normal" cutie mark. What if somepony were to be assigned the wrong gender at birth and wanted to medically transition o make themselves feel happier in their body? They would’t be allowed to as that wouldn’t be "normal" or "it’s just plain wrong", and they’d get cast out of their homes, cities and so on. Princess Celestia, no matter how hard she tries, can’t stop that.

11275562
Get what you're saying about trans folks, even though the gender construct itself along with the concept of homophobia and transphobia are just human concepts that we just straight up made up how to believe that to give me Equestria that I imagine that to being not straight or being trans would not be the norm that's what I'm saying like I feel like that would be as normal as straightness, a lot to disagree but I'm saying that I can't see that sort of bigotry ever being created in this world at all, just something that this will just never experienced at least in my mind

11275574
We've seen that societal norms are a problem of Equestria, what with the whole recast thing they had going on. So, homophobia, transphobia, aphobia and such do seem like something ponies would have problems. But finding Equestria a safe place where no such hate exists is definitely a refreshing mindset. One I don’t personally share, but I can definitely see why you think so. An oasis away from the troubling world we have here on Earth. I getcha!
Guess we can agree to disagree?

Personally, I would argue that escapism can still work in even in settings that are less-than ideal. For example, the world Frank Castle lives in is not exactly the kind of place most people will be itching to live in, yet there are people who clearly want to be like him IRL.
But aside from that, I just think stories where the characters have to overcome bigotry are more inspiring (and applicable) to real life than those where it is magically non-existent or resolved so quickly it seems like it was almost a non-issue to begin with.

I’m surprised that this story has so many downvotes, but I loved this sequel.

It’s always good to read stories involving lesbians, gay couples, bisexuals, asexuals, etc. This is going on my favorites bookshelf. :pinkiehappy:

Keep up the good work!
