A pegasus stallion has travelled Equestria to escape his foreign homeland. He finds himself in the small town of Ponyville where he decides to stay and forget his past research. Of course, forgetting is never so straight forward, especially when things stir in the Everfree Forest and his research returns to him in full force. Meanwhile, the arrival of this new pony reveals cracks in the foundations of the bearers of the elements of harmony, and Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie, Rainbow and Fluttershy will have their friendships tested to find out what they are really worth.

I like your OC, even if he did come off a little Mary Sue-ish at the beginning. Towards the end of the chapter I felt he had a real kind of charm to his character that many OCs don't. I'm curious about his research as well.

She's on hiatus. Got too many programming projects for a few clients to complete. It'll be a few months before I can get back to my own writing. This is an excellent piece of writing with solid descriptions and a decent plot. You've handled Shining Armor's character well and I'm looking forward to seeing what he's up to in the next chapter. But the OC, on the other hand, seems to be a little bit of a Mary Sue, as pointed out by >>MisterMoniker. I'm also a bit disappointed at the shallow characterizations of the mane 6 characters. It feels like you've only gotten them right only on a superficial level (Twilight likes books, Rarity likes clothes etc...). Yea, so that bit lacked a bit of depth.
But still, I enjoyed reading this very much. This story NEEDS more likes!

Believe me, I have a lot planned for future chapters to do with the mane 6 and exploring past what's on their surface and delving deeper in to what holds them together or what separates them in some cases. Without giving anything away, I can reveal that there will be turbulence on this flight...
As for Mary Sue I've realised I went a bit over the top in the first chapter, I tried to readdress the balance in chapter two so perhaps you saw a little difference between the two chapters? Meanwhile in the third chapter I've toned him down even more to reveal an imperfection or two, so stay tuned!
