Sombra has been vanquished once more, and Equestria again enjoys its time of unprecedented harmony. Twilight Sparkle, newly-appointed successor to the two royal sisters, knows that a great responsibility awaits her. But as she dwells on this new and unexpected future, she thinks to the past, and to the one whose throne she will inherit.

Solid one-shot, and a good look into Twilight's thought processes and worries about the coming burden that she'll be taking on. I really like the supportive role that Spike plays to her in this, he really is her number-one assistant.

Good to see you writing. I've missed seeing your stories.

Though at first grateful for his automatic defence of her, Twilight's smile faded shortly afterwards. "Spike, Celestia rules Equestria for a thousand years, by herself, and all was well for the entire time." She placed her hoof upon her chest. "I become a princess and what happens after that? Tirek terrorising all of ponykind. A time travel battle that nearly dooms us all. The release of an ancient shadow beast that nearly engulfs the land. Equestria's magic stolen by a literal child. And a great many other things too." She hung her head. "Celestia will be remembered for an age of peace. But me? My reign will conjure memories of disaster after disaster, and I haven't even been crowned yet!"

Well not really Twilight because all of those things just happen we didn't know this is what's going to happen how would anybody would know that so you got to give yourself a credit there Twilight

So after this season 9 premiere defeating Sombra Twilight is still kind of nervous about the incoming future of becoming the ruler of Equestria Spike wants to reassure her that she really will do a good job and I really like that heart to heart conversation between these two and it's really nice in Twilight will become a good ruler as we saw the last problem this was a pretty good story keep up the good work

I think this story, more than the show itself, really is the fulfilment of the prophecy in the Season 4 song, "You'll Play Your Part."
